04-03-1944 Minutes1 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. APRIL 3, 1944 i Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 3, 1944. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissiorn rs Mor- genstern, Elliott and Price responded. Commissioners Breon and Moore and City Attorney Clark absent. . The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 20, 1944 and Regular Meeting of March 27, 1944 were read and approved as read. Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1944 received as j followss Louise Cain Commissioner Price moved that application be approved and license granted for day driving only. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Elliott the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Elliott and Price (3) Nays: (0) Commissiom rs Breon and Moore absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered A-234. A petition was presented asking for the o�trbing and gmtttering of Spruce Street from Phillips Street west to College Avenue. Referred to the City Manager. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating tothe curbing, guttering and grading of Spruce Street from the east line of College Avenue to the west line of Phillips Street. Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissiow rs. Concrete Construction Maintenance Bonds wereireceived from: i Salina Concrete Products Company, i Oscar M. Wilbur and R. D. Kathary Commissioner Price moved that bonds be accepted by the Board of Commission- ers. Motion adopted. The appraisers reports for the curbing and guttering of: College Avenue from Morrison Avenue to Prescott Avenue; Montrose Avenue from Morrison Avenue to Prescott Avenue; Tenth Street from Wilson Street to Republic Avenue; were presented, and on motion of Commissioner Price, Tuesday, April 11th, 1944 at eight o'clock P. M. was designated as a Special Meeting at which time the reports will be acted on by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City Clerk publish notice of such meeting in the official City paper as provided by law. Motion adopted. The appraisers report for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer No. 191 located in Lots two (2) to five (5), Surveyor's Plat 12, Salina, Kansas,wsre pre- sented, and on motion of Commissioner Price, Tuesday, April 11th, 1944 at eight o'clock P. M. was designated as a Special Meet inT which time the report will be taken up and acted on by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City Clerk pub- lish notice of such meeting in the official City paper as provided by low. Motion adopted. Taxicab Liability Policy was received from Pennsylvania Casualty Company asking that name of insured be changed from V. B. McMickle to Elsie C. McMickle. Commissioner Price moved that change be made. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissionrs adjourned to meet in regular session, Tuesday, April 11th, 1944 at eight o'clock P. M. City Clerk 91
