03-13-1944 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. MARCH 13, 1944 : Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 13, 1944. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Price the roll was called and Commissioners Price, Breon and Elliott and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioners Morgenstern and Moore absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 6, 1944 were read and approved i as read. Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1944 received as I follows: W. 0. Bush Ben Cain I Geo, 11, McConnell, Jr., Commissioner Elliott moved that applications be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. Applications for Cereal Malt Beverage License for the year 1944 received as follows: I GENERAL RETAILER CLASS—"A"—INDIVIDUAL — — i Application Number Name of Applicant Name and Location of Place of Business i 49 A. A petition was presented asking for the extension of city sewer to Block 1, Evergreen Park Addition. Referred t othe City Manager and City Engineer. I An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Elliott the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayess Price, Breon and Elliott (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Morgenstern i and Moore absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-230. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." I On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; j Ayes: Price,. Breon and Elliott (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Morgenstern and Moore absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-231. I A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to issuance of Temporary Note in the amount of $5958.60 (Curb and Gutter Job No. 200)." On motion of Commissioner Elliott the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Breon and Elliott (3) Nayss (0) Commissioners Morgenstern and Moore absent. Acting Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 842. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 221, Resolution Book Number 3. I i 88 An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the exclusion of a certain area from the fire limits of the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Breon and Elliott (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Morgenstern and Moore absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5047. On motion of Commissioner Elliott the City Manager was authorized to meet the Payroll of March 15th, 1944. Motion adopted. J. B. Berkley asked for a special permit to build an addition to building located on the East 80 feet of Lot Number 1, E. M. I. Addition to Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Breon moved that permit be granted. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Elliott the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
