Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 21, 1944.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Com-
missioners Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott and Price responded. Commissioners
Moore and City Attorney Clark absent.
The minutes ofthe Regular Meeting of February 14, 1944 were read and
approved as read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1944 received
as follows$
Amelia Carolyn Edwards
Hazel Irene Greusel
Lou C. Thompson
Commissioner Pries moved that applications received from Amelia Carolyn
Edwards and Hazel Irene Greusel be approved and license granted for day driving
only. Motion adopted.
Thw application received from Lem C. Thompson was withdrawn.
L. J. Ashton asked for a permit to construct a building on Lot 1, Block 4,
Southern Heights Addition, Salina, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Breen permit
was granted to construct the building one foot of lot owners on north side.
Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitleds "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayess Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner
Moore absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-227.
An ordinance was introduced entitleds "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner hlliott the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott and Price (4) Nayss (0) Commissioner
Moore absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-228.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitleds "A Resolution
relating tot he curbing, guttering and "ding of Pershing Street from the south
line of Jewell Avenue t o the north line of KirwinAvenue."
Onmetion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and
on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayess
Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott and Price (4) Nayss (0) Commissioner Moore absent.
Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 837.

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitleds "A Resolution
relating to'he curbing, guttering and grading of Republie Avenue from the west
line of Sheridan Street to the east line of Hancock Street."

on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:

Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 838.

A resolution was introduced for first reading entitleds "A Resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Merrill Street from the south
line of Milson Street to the north line of Republic venue. Resolution was
referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A letter was received from Edgar M. Heyl, Chief of Police, relating to
taxicab drivers license Number 57, issued to James B. Dryden. Commissioner
Price moved that license be revoked. Motion adopted,
On motion of Commissioner: Breon the Board of Commissions re adjourned.
