JANUARY 31; 1944.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 31, 1944. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners
Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott and Price and City Attorney Clark responded. Com-
missioner Moore absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 26, 1944 were read and ap-
proved as read.
Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1944 received as fol-
lows:

Commissioner Breon moved that application be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Elliott the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner
Moore absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-226.
Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License for the year 1944 received as
follows:

Commissioner Elliott moved that application be held over for further con-
sideration. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced on second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for an option to certain licenses under Ordinance Number 504Z, relating
to occupational and license taxes upon certain callings, trades, professions,
businesses and occupations."
On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was celled and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Moore absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5046.
City Manager reported that the Waterworks Department had charged off un-
collectible accounts for 1943 in the sum of $126.86. Commissioner Price moved that
the charge off of said accounts by the Waterworks Department be authorized and
approved. Motion adopted.
City Manager Allison and Commissioner Breon were authorized to attend the
post-war Planning Conference at Topeka, Kansas, February 3rd and 4th, 1944.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of the north
side of Republic Avenue from Sheridan to Hancock. Petition was referred to the City
Manager.
On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Connissiore rs adjourned.
