01-26-1944 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JANUARY 26, 1944. Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 26, 1944. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott and Price and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Moore absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 17th, 1944 were read and approved as read. Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1944 received as follows: Ruby E. Boyd, Sr., A. F. Harris James W. Sloop Rease Walsh Commissioner Hreon moved that applications be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. Applications for Cereal Malt Beverage License for the year 1944 re- ceived as follows: GENERAL R ETAILER CLASS "B" INDIVIDUAL Application Number 46 47 48 Name of Applicant Fred Clar 0. Taylor Name and Locationof Place of Business Uptown Bar 216 West Ash Street Beulah's Tavern 219 North Santa Fe Ave. White House Inn 813 North Santa Fe Commissioner Breon moved that applications be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. Trust Deed, with a deposit of $75.00 for the perpetual care of the North 1/2 of Lot 25, Block 25, in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery of Salina, Kansas, was received from Robert C. Ryding. Commissioner Price moved that Trust Deed be approved by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City Treasurer be instructed to place the deposit in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery Lot Owners Endowment Fund, as provided by Ordinance Number 3530 of the City of Salina. Motion adopted. Combination Gas Fitter and Plumbers Bond was presented from B. B. Gage, d/b/a Gage Plumbing and Heating Company, and on motion of Commissioner Elliott bond was approved by the Board of gommissioners. A communication was received, signed by several plumbers of the City of Salina, asking the Board of Commissioners to appoint A. J. Bachofer as the Master Plumbers representative on the Plumbers Examining Board, on account of vacancy created by the resignation of Dan Kastner. Communication was ordered filed. An ordinance was introduced on first reading entitleds "An ordinance providing for an option to certain licenses under Ordinance No. 5042, relating to occupational and license taxes upon certain callings, trades, professions, businesses and occupations.' Ordinance was referred to the Board of Com- missioners. On motion of Commissioner Elliott the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
