COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING
COMMISS IONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS
NOVEMBER 22, 1943.
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 22, 1943. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners
Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott and Moore and City Attorney Clark responded. Com-
missioner Price absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 15, 1943 were read and
approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company
for the construction of certain curbing, guttering and grading improvements on
certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of
temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds."
On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vete was
had: Ayes: Morgenstern, Breon, Elliottsnd Moore (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner
Price absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5039.
Pursuant to notice published in the Salina Journal bid was received for
the construction of Lateral Senitary Sewer Number 191 as follows:
H. J. Taylor Construction Company,
Salina, Kansas
Acting City Engineer's Estimate of Cost for the above named improvement
was read.
Bid was referred to the City Manager.
A Resolution was introduced relying to the approval of Senate Bill Number
735, seeking to give to the Federal Power Commission additional authority under
the
it Gas Act" so as to make possible the conservation of natural gas re-
sources.
On motion of Commissioner Moore the resolution was adopted as read and
on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott and Moore (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Price absent.
Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 834.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 212 and 213 of Resolution
Book Number 3.
On motion of Commissioner Elliott the City Clerk was instructed to forward
a copy of the above resolution to the Kansas Representatives in the Congress.
Motion adopted.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the balance of 1943 received
as follows:
Orville B. Dryden
Ralph E. Walsh
Commissioner Moore moved that applications be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
A report was received from the City Planning Commission in reference to
vacating certain alleys in Blocks 1 and 2 in Pleasant View Addition to the City of
Salina, Kansas. Action on same was deferred until the next Regular Meeting.
A report was received from the City Planning Commission in reference to the
re -zoning of Block 4, in Bond's Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas. Action
onsame was deferred until the next Regular Meeting.
On motion of Commissioner Elliott the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
