11-01-1943 MinutesCOMMISS IONERS PROCEEDINGS REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SAL INA , KARS AS NOVEMBER 1, 1943. Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 1, 1943. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Elliott and Moore and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioners Breon and Price absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 25th, 1943 were read and approved as read. The matter of the revocation of taxicab drivers license Number 105 issued to James G. Finney, pursuant to notice served on said James G. Finney came on for hearing. James G. Finney appeared in person. Commissioner Elliott moved that action on same be deferred until the next Regular Meeting of November 8, 1943. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced on first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining a certain Lateral Sewer District in the City of Salina as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District No. 191 and providing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in the Lateral Sanitary Sewer District No. 191 so created, and providing for the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in said district for the payment of such construction and for the issuing of bonds therefor." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Elliott the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Elliott and Moore (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Breon and Price absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 216-A. City Clerk was instructed to re -advertise for bids for the curbing and guttering of: i MONTROSE AVENUE from Morrison Avenue to Prescott Avenue, COLLEGE AVENUE from Morrison Avenue to Prescott Avenue, TER?TH STREET from Wilson Street to Republic Avenue, bids to be received up to and including Monday, November 8th, 1943 at 4:30 P. M. Motion adopted. City Manager Allison reported to the Board of Commissioners that on October 27th, 1943 he appointed Edgar V1. Heyl as Chief of Police of the City of Salina, Kansas. On motion, appointment was confirmed by the Board of Oommi s s ioners . On motion of Commissioner Moore the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City C er I
