08-11-1943 Minutes38 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, SPECIAL MEXTING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. AUGUST 11, 1943 Special Meeting of the Board of Qammissioners August 11, 1943. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott, Moore and Price responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 9, 1943 were read and approved as read. The following resolution was introduced: BE IT RESOLVED By the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina: That E. J. Allison be and he is hereby appointed City Manager of the City of Salina, Kansas, and upon his qualifying therefor not later than September 1, 1943, said E. J. Allison shall hold the office of City Manager of the City of Salina, Kansas as provided by law and by the ordinances of the City of Salina. Adopted this August 11, 1943, Chas. B. Peterson Deputy City Clerk On motion of Commissioner Breon the resolution was adopted as read, and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott, Moore and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 832. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 210 of Resolution Book Number 3. Mr. Chas, E. Banker submitted his resignation as City Manager of the City of Salina, Kansas, as follows: To the Hon. Board of Commissioners, City of Salina, Salina, Kansas. Gentlemen: I hereby tender my resignation as City Manager of the City of Salina to take effect and be in force after the appointment and qualifying of my successor. I wish to express my appreciation for the confidence the Governing Body of Salina has placed in me by appointing me to this responsible position, and assure you I will continue, as in the past, to give the citizens of Salina any service I can for the best interest of the City. Banker City Manager Commissioner Price moved that resignation be accepted by the Board of Commissioners and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott, Moore and Price.
