07-14-1943 MinutesI') COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISS IONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JULY 14, 1943 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 14, 1943. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott, Moore and Price responded, The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 6, 1943 were read and approved as read, Mr. LaRue Royce appeaere before the Board of Commissioners in behalf of the But Ler Packing Company regarding By -Pass assessments. The matter was referred to the City Manager. Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1943 received as follows: Edith L. Colliver Commissioner Elliott moved that application be approved and license granted for day driving only. Motion adopted. James B. Morris Commissioner Price moved that application be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. *I L. W. Kimberlin Commissioner Moore moved that application be rejected by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating tothe curbing, guttering and grading of Montrose Avenue from the south line of Morrison Avenue to the north line of Prescott Avenue. On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott, Moore and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 828. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 205 of Resolution Book Number 3. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to t he curbing, guttering and grading of College Avenue from the south line of Morrison Avenue to the north line of Prescot Avenue. On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott, Moore and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 829. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 206 of Resolution Book Number 3. Commissioner Breon moved that James Smith, Assistant Operator of the Sewage Disposal Plant, be given an increase in salary of $10.00 per month. Motion adopted. Motion adopted. An ordinanc a was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Moore the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott, Moore and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor ap- proved the ordinance and it is numbered 205-A. Commissioner Price moved that Chas. A. Anderson, Caretaker of the City Dump Grounds be given an increase in salary of $20.00 per month. Motion adopted. A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of Tenth Street f rom Wilson Street to Republic Avenue. Ordered filed. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Tenth Street from the south line of Wilson Street to the north line of Republic venue. Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A petition was presented asking for the closing of the alley in 300 Block, the first block west of Ninth between Kirwin and Claflin, in Pleasant View Addition, Also short alley running north and south between Kirwin and Claflin. Petition was referred to the City Manager. On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned. 13
