Regular Fiieeting of the Board of Commissioners April 4, 1949. Meeting was
called to order by Acting Layor Stephenson, the roll was called and Commissioners
Lindgren, Noyce, Price and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded.
Commissioner Stedham absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of iviarch 28, 1949 were read and approved
as read.
Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1949 presented from
Francis E. Knox (iiumber 116). Commissioner Noycemoved that application be
approved and license granted. Motion adopted.
A petition was presented for the vacation of old Riverside Drive.
Referred to City Planning Commission.
A petition was presented from Davis -Child Motor Company for the rezoning
of Lots 2,416,8210,12,14 and 16, Block 2, North Park Addition to "D" Light
Industrial District. retition was referred to the City Planning Commission.
Commissioner Lindgren moved to approved setback as per plans for building
to be erected by Davis -Child Motor Company. Motion adopted.
Concrete Construction Bond was presented from J. M. McClure, and Commis-
sioner Price moved that Bond be approved by the Board of Commissioners. ILotion
adopted.
Combination Plumbers and Gas Fitters Bond presented from Thomas Edward
Imler, and on motion of Commissioner Price approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Motion adopted.
A petition was presented for the paving of Hancock Street from Venango
Street to Republic Avenue. Petition was referred to the City Manager.
A petition was presented for a lateral sewer from the alley between
Beloit and Republic, north along the parking on the east side of Osborne Street,
across Republic Avenue, to service Lots 2, 42 6, 81 10 and 12, Block 6, Sunnyside
Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas. Petition referred to the City Manager.

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Noyce the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Lindgren, Noyce, Price and. Stephenson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner
Stedham absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-457•
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
levying special assessment against certain property to pay the cost of con-
structing certain water service pipes in certain streets in the City of Salina,
Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote
was had; Ayes: Lindgren, Price, Noyce and Stephenson (4) Nays: (0) Commis-
sioner Stedham absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the inclusion of certain lands in the City of Salina, Kansas,
in the "B" Residential District as that District is defined in Section 4 of Ordi-
nance Number 3188, and providing for the proper uses thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read a -d adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Lindgren, ivoyce, trice and Stephenson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stedham absent.
Acting mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5370.
An ordinane was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
creating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer districts in the City of
Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 237 and 238,
and providing for fhr the construction of lateral sanitary sewers in said Lateral
i Sanitary Sewer Districts 237 and 238, so created, and providing for the payment
of the cost thereof and for the levying of spedial assessments against the property
i in said districts for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the
issuing :;f bonds to pay the cost thereof."

and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the paving of Montrose Street from the north line of Charles Street to
the north line of Prescott Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Lindgren the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Lindgren, Noyce, Price and Stephenson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stedham absent.

to the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the paving of Thirteenth Street from the north line of Lincoln Avenue
to the north line of North Street." Resolution was referred to the Board of
Commissioners.
On otion of Commissioner Lindgren the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
