03-14-1949 Minutesf 4i C0MLa SSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COM11SSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. MARCH 142 1949 Regular kieeting of the Board of Commissioners March 14, 1949. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stedham, the roll was called and Commissioners Stedham, Noyce, Price and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded. Commis- sioner Lindgren absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 7th, 1949; Larch 8th, 1949; lurch 10th, 1949 and Larch 11th, 1949 were read and approved as read. Gilbert Rhodenbaugh appeared before the Board of Commissioners regard- ing his taxicab drivers license number 9. Commissioner Stephenson moved that license be suspended for nienty days from march 14, 1949. Motion adopted. Commissioner Price moved that Taxicab Drivers License Number 111, issued to Chester Lee Skieff be rejected. Motion adopted. Applications for Taxicab Drivers License numbered 109 and 110 for the year 1949 were presented and on motion of Commissioner Price approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Wilson and Company, Engineers, filed Estimate No. 5 in the amount of ;2,693.67 to H. J. Taylor Constructioh Company for Airport Job. On motion of i Commissioner Price Estimate was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to petition- ing the Honorable Board of County Commissioners of Saline County, Kansas, to make certain findings, being conditions precedent to the inclusion of certain additional territory in the corporate limits of the City of Salina." A On motion of Commissioner Stephsnon the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stedham, Noyce and Stephenson (3) Nays: Price (1) Commissioner j Lindgren absent. Payor approved the resolution and it is numbered 1083. I j The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 83 and 84, Resolution Book Number 4. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the vacation of a portion of a certainalley, subject to reservations, in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stedham, Noyce, Price and Stephenson (4) Nays: (0) Commission- er Lindgren clDsent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5366. A petition was presented for sewer on Prescott Avenue from Second to Third Streets. Petition referred to City Manager. Commissioner Noyce moved that a resolution be introduced for paving Funston Street between Sunset Drive and Republic Avenue. Carried. A resolution was introduced for first reading dntitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving of Funston Street from the south line of Republic Avenue to he north line of Sunset Drive." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Noyce moved that a resolution be introduced for paving Tenth Street from Harsh Avenue to Pacific Avenue. Carried. ` A resolution was introduced on first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving of Tenth Street from the south line of Harsh Avenue to the south line of Pacific Avenue." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. i Petition was presented from Lawrence Gutsch to plat the Southwest 1/4 of the northeast 1/4 of Section 24, Township 14, South Range Three, West of the Sixth Principal i..eridian. Referred to City Manager, C-ty Engineer and City I Planning Commission. Revised Ordinances taken up and read. On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
