Commis- sioner Lrice absent. The minutes of the Regular Leeting of February 21, 1949 were read and ap- proved as read. 1s. C. E. Brock appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding Gas and Light Franchise for the Kansas Power and Light Company. 2% Gross Revenue on Gas 3N Gross Revenue on electric 42,000.00 20 year Franchd.se On motion of Commissioner Stephenson, seconded by Commissioner Lindgren, an ordinance was introduced on first reading entitled: "An ordinance granting to The Kansas Power and Light Company, a Kansas corporation, its successors and assigns, an electric and natural gas franchise, prescribing the terms thereof and relating thereto, and repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with or in conflict with the terms Hereof." On roll call the following vote was had; Ayes: Stedham, Lindgren, Noyce and Stephenson (4) mays: (0) Commissioner Price absent. The ordinance was given Number 5364• Commissioner Lindgren moved that Ordinance Number 5364 be placed on second reading,_nd on roll call the following vote was had; Ayes: Stedham, Lindgren, ldoyce and Stephenson (4) ways: (0) Commissioner Price absent. Carried. Commissioner Stephenson moved that notice of the proposition to grant the franchise, heretofore introduced, be given in accordance with the provisions of Section 12-824, G. S. Kansas, 1935. Seconded by Commissioner Lindgren. Carried. Dan Bolen appeared before the Board of Commissioners requesting the City Commissioners again request th.,t the County Commissioners release the forty-three acres at the southwest edge of Salina between the Lissouri Pacific Railroad Tracks and U. S. 81 By -Pass. Commissioner Stephenson roved that action be tabled until next meeting. Carried. Commissioner Lindgren moved that Building �.pplication iuo. 2018, Permit NumUer 6534, for the erection of a building for L. H. Bolin, to be located on the 4orth 85 feet of Lot 13, Surveyor's Plat 8, be approved. Carried. Hand Contract for the year 1949 presented, and on motion of Commissioner Lindgren approved by the Board of Commissioners. Carried. A petition was presented for the paving of alley between Tenth and Eleventh Street, south 200 feet from Woodland Avenue. Petition referred to City manager, A petition was presented or the paving of 600 Block on klontrose Avenue, between Charles Street and Prescott Avenue. Referred to City TLanager. A petition was presented for�he rezoning of South 524 feet of Lots 62 and 64 and East 18.8 feet of South 521 feet of Lot 66, Ash Street, Wilson's Addition, 5 from "Al' Residential to "B" Residential. Referred to City Planning Commission. Application for Cereal l;ialt Beverage License for the year 1949 presented from Kenneth Campbell, d/b/a Campbell's Community l.arket No. 3, at 301 North Ninth Street. Commissioner Lindgren moved that application be approved and license grant- ed. iviotion adopted. Applications for Taxicab Drivers License, numbered 104 and 105 for the year 1949, presented to the Board of Commissioners, and on motion of Commissioner Noyce approved by the Board of Commissioners.
