Regular Leeting of the Board of Commissioners January 31, 1919. Meeting
was called to order by payor Stedham, the roll was called and Commissioners Stedham,
Lindgren, Noyce, Price and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 173 1919 wereread and approved
as read.
A petition was presented for the construction of a sewer from Quincy Street
east through Blocks 3 and 5 to the west side of Lot 6, Block 5, in Sunrise Addition

to the City of Salina, Nansas. Petit , on was referred t o t r_e City vanager.
A petition was presented for the paving of Quincy Street from Republic Street
to Beloit Street. Petition was referred to the City manager.
Hearing for the rezoning of the East 62r feet of Lots 15 and 16, Block 3,
Southern Heights Addition was taken up by the Board of Commissioners. Commission-

er Lindgren moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance pro-
viding for the e inclusion of certain lands in the City of Salina, Kan sas., in the
IICII Commercial District as that district is defined by Section 5 of Ordinance Dumber
3188 and the amendments thereto and providing for the proper use thereof." Ordinance
referred to the Board of Commissioners.
bust Deed, with a deposit of 0`75.00 was presentef from Raymond E. Haggart,
for the perpetual care of the .forth 1/2 of Lot 21, Block 9, in the eyspum Hill Ceme-
tery of Salina, Kansas. Commissioner j'rice moved that Deed be approved by the
Board of Commissioners and City Treasurer authorized to place deposit in the Gypsum
Hill Cemetery Lot Owners Endowment Fund as provided by Ordinance No. 3530 of the City
of Salina, Eansas. Motion adopted.
Applications for Cereal L'Ialt Beverage License for the year 1919 presented
Lindgren
from Gus G. Thodis, George Holzmeister and Alice Conlin. Commissioner
moved that applications be approved and license granted. Tiiotion adopted.
Gas Fitters Bond presented from Irvan L. Range, and on motion of Commis-
sioner Lindgren approved by the Board of Commissioners. laotion adopted.
Taxicab Drivers Applicat_ons numbered 69 to 84 inclusive, for the year 1919,
vrere presented, and on motion of Commissioner Lindgren approved by the Board of Com-
missioners.

Commissioner Noyce moved that application be rejected by the Board of Com-

missioners. luotion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro-
viding for the rezoning of certain lots and pieces of real estate in the City of
Salina and prescribing the use thereof."

On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections arid on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Stedham, Lindgren, idoyce, Price and Stephenson (5) ivays: (0) IM-ayor
i approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5361.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance rati-
fying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the
construction of certain lateral sanitary sewers in the City of Salina heretofore
designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 234 and 235, and providing for the issu-
ance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds."
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the ordinance was read and adopted by
its final adoption tie roll was called and the following vote was had;

Ayes: Stedham, Lindgren, Noyce, Price and Stephenson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered 5362•

Commissioner Lindgren moved that applications be approved and license
granted. Lotion adopted.
Letter was presented from W. 0. Brown, 517 Sunset Drive, requesting answer
of placing on ballot the buying of additional land near Sunset Park for recreational
purposes. Referred to the City Manager.
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
