Regular iu:eeting of the Board of Commissioners December 27, 1948. Leeti n g
was called to order by Layor Stedham, the roll was called and Commissioners Stedham,
Lindgren, Zoyce and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner
Price absent.
The minutes of the Regular Lieeting of December 20, 194$ were read and
approved as read.
Bell Taxi owners appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding
ilo.00 taxicab drivers fee. Comrd.ssioner Stephenson moved that other taxicab
owners from the Veterans Taxi and Radio Cab be present at next meeting and discuss
taxicab drivers fees. City L',"anager to notify them of this request. Carried.
City Manager read a letter from City Recreation Commission petitioning City
Commissioners to acquire land next to Sunset Park, descrLbed as follows: i
"Commencing at a point on the south line of
Sunset Park 40 feet west of the southeast corner of
said park, thence due south to the point of
intersection with the northeast right-of-way line
of B.S.highway ;Q1, thence northwesterly on said
right-of-way line to its intersection with the east
line of the right -of way of the Lissouri Pacific
Railroad right-of-way, thence northeasterly on said
railroad right-of-way line to its intersection with the south
line of said park, extended west, thence due west to the
place of beginning.''
Commissioner hoyce moved that it be placed on ballot in the City Liection
of April 1949. No second to motion.
Three applications for Cereal Lalt Beverage License for the year 1949 were
presented. Commissioner Noyce moved that applications be approved and i
license granted. hotionadopted.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of Reynolds
Street from Lincoln Street to Broadway Boulevard. Referred to the City Manager. i
A petition was presented asking for the curbing, guttering and paving of
Reynolds Street from center line of north Street to center line of Lincoln Street.
Referred to the City Manager.
Hearing on notice of intent to rezone the Last 62A, feet of Lots 15 and 16,
Block 3, Southern heights Addition to Class "C" Commercial was taken up by the
Board of Commissioners, and on motion, hearing was recessed until next meeting.
Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
fixing the salaries and wages of various city officers and employees of the
City of Salina, Kansas, and empowering the City Lanager f said City to employ
such other employees as he deems recess;-ry for the various departments of the
said City, as now existing or hereafter created, and repealing certain ordinances,
darts and sections thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commis-
sioners.
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
