Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 13, 1948. Meeting was
called to order by Acting tAayor Stephenson, the roll was called and Commissioners
Stephenson, Lindgren and Noyce and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioners I
Stedham and Price absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 6, 1948 were read and approved
as read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the balance of 1948 presented
as follows:
Robert L. Armstrong Frank A. Couch
A. W. Main W. A. Pellusch
Commissioner Noyce moved that applications be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
City Lagineer filed Final Approval to Central Steel Tank Company on contract
for painting two water tanks. Total w14,180.00. On motion of Commissioner
Lindgren approved as filed. idiotion dopted.
Wilson and Company, Engineers, filed Estimates No. 1 and 2 on Airport Job,
to H. J. Taylor Construction Company. (Amount X4551.28 and :13,813.)2). On motion
of Commissioner Noyce accepted by the Board of Commissioners. iJiotion adopted.
Petition was filed from Adolph Lebert against the rezoning of the East 622
feet of Lots 15 and 16, Block 3, Southern Heights Addition, to "C" Commercial Zone.
Referred to City Manager for checking.
Hearing on notice of intent to rezone the east 62,12 feet of Lots 15 and 16,
Block 3, Southern Heights Addition to ""C" Commercial Zone was taken up by the Board of
Commissioners, and on motion hearing was recessed until next meeting. Motion adopted.)
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: 'tAn ordinance cre-
ating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer districts in the City of Salina,
Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sevaer Districts numbered 234 and 235, and
providing for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers in said Lateral Sanitary
Sewer Districts 234 and 235 so created, and providing for the payment of the cost
thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in said
district for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds
to pay the cost thereof."
On motion of Commissioner :Joyce the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes:
Stephenson, Lindgren and :Joyce (3) days (0) Commissioners Stedham and Price
absent. Acting layor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5358•
City I,lanaL.er reported on David Loy, regarding his purchase of Vetera:s Cab Compar.
from Ed French. Commissioner Noyce made a motion, if David Loy files proper
applications he be allowed to operate balance of year on Veterans Cab License. Carried.
Wilson and Company, Lngine ers, were presented and submitted the result of their
tabulation of bids on Sewage Disposal equipment as follows.
Low Bial on Item No. 1, Salina Supply Company $G5,300.00
Low Bid on Item No. 2 to 9 The Dorr Company 59 009.00
Total - - - - - i_,309.00
Commissioner Lindgren moved to accept bid of Salina Supply Company and Dorr
Company and let contract, and to aut orize City kanager to sign contract on behalf
of the City. Carried.

Wilson and Company, Engineers, recommended the purchase of Digester liechanism
from Dorr Company for $7,049.00, which was their bid. Commissioner Noyce moved to
accept and let contract and to authorize City Manager to sign contract on behalf of
City. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Noyce the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
