NOVEMBER 15, 1948 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 15, 1948. meeting was called to order by Jvayor Stedham, the roll was called and Commissioners Stedham, Lindgren, Noyce, Price and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regular ivieeting of November 8, 1948 were read and approved as read. Drew iiartnett presented petition for the rezoning of South 75 feet Lots 4 and 6; North 75 feet Lot 8, all on Santa Fe -avenue and the North 1/2 of Lot 5, Seventh Street, in Holland's Addition, from "B" Residential to "C" Commercial. Petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1948 presented as follows: David 1L. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the inclusion of certain lands in the City of Galina, Kansas, in the "B" Residential District as that District is defined in Section 4 of Ordinance Num- ber 3188 and providing for the proper uses thereof." On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stedham, Lindgren, Noyce, Price and Stephenson (5) iJays: W) mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5352• An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of Salina, prescribing the corporate limits of said City and repealing bection 5 of Ordinance Number 4756." On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stephenson, Lindgren, Noyce, Price and Stephenson (5) Nays: �0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5353. City Engineer submitted Partial Estimate !dumber 1 in the amount of 41159,188.97 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company, for curbing, guttering and paving improvements provided for under contract dated August 30, 1948, known as Job Dumber 245. Commissioner Lindgren moved that estimate be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Yviotion adopted. City Engineer submitted Partial Estimate Number 4 in the amount of $22,554.13 to H. J. Taylor construction Company for curbing, guttering and paving improvements provided for under contract awarded June 7, 1)48, known as Job number 243. Commissioner Lindgren moved that Estimat4 be approved by the Board of Commissioners. i;,otion a dopted. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution authorizing and pro- viding for the issuance of Temporary Notes of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sure of $81,743.10 to pay a portion of the cost of improving certain streets in the City of Salina tobe designated as Series No. PT -2, pending the issuance of bonds to pay tie cost of said work." 1 u 1 1 1 1 3 t4 K On motion of Commissioner Lindgren the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stedham, Lindgren, 14oyce, Price and Stephenson (5) hays: `0) ivayor approved the resolu- tion and it is numbered 1078. City Engineer submitted Partial Estimate in the amount of X7599.00 to Central Steel Tank Company, for painting Water Tanks, (Oob Number 241). Commissioner Lindgren moved that Estimate be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final doption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stedham, Lindgren, Noyce, Price and Stephenson (5) Aays: w) i�iayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-443.
