IJOVDIviBER 1, 1948 Regular lLeeting of the Board of Commissioners november 1, 1948. .Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stedham, the roll was called and Commissioners Stedham, Lindgren, Noyce, Price and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Reg lar iveeting of October 25, 1948 were read and approved as read. Paul Ramsey appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding his Taxicab Drivers License suspended by the Board of Commissioners October 25, 1948. Commissioner Noyce moved that license be reinstated. Notion adopted. A claim in the amount of $83.08 was presented from Garland Bill, for auto damages. Commissioner Price moved that claim not be allowed, as City Attorney advised City not legally responsible. Carried. Oil and Gas Drillers Bonds was presented from Chas. W. Sheldon, et al., in lieu of Bond issued to Lowell Drilling Company. Commissioner Noyce moved that new Bond be accepted and City Clerk give release. Motion adopted. Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1948 presented as follows: William H. Hahn Commissioner Price moved that application be approved and license granted. Iviotionadopted. A petition was presented f rom the 14yatt Lfg. Company to close north and south alley between Lincoln and North Street from Fourth Street to Fifth Street. Petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. A petition was presented for the curbing and guttering of Grand Avenue from Tenth Street to Eleventh .Street. Referred to he City Manager. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pre- scribing rates for consumption and use of water, outside the limits of the City of Salina, Kansas, and sold by the Water Works Department of the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Lindgren the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Stedham, Lindgren, Noyce, Price and Stephenson (5) Plays: l0) mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5348. An ordinance was introduced entitled: ''An ordinance making appropriation fcr the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finale doption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stedham, Lindgren, Noyce, Price and Stephenson (5) Nays: l0) Tayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-442. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain paving and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost hereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. 1 1 1 1 An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of Salina, prescribing the corporate limits of said City and repealing Section 5 of Ordinance No. 4756." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Revolution authorizing and provid- ing for the issuance of temporary notes of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of ??82, 916.62 to pay a portion of the cost of improving certain streets in the City of Salina to e designated as Series PT -2, pending the issuance of bonds to pay the cost of said work." On motion of Commissioner Noyce the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Sted- ham, Lindgren, Noyce, Price and Stephenson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 1077. The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 73 and 74, Resolution Book Number 4. On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
