Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stedham, the roll was called and Commissioners Stedham, Lindgren, Noyce and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Price absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 18, 1948 and Special Meetings of October 20th and October 21, 1948 were read and approved as read. Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1948 presented as fol- lows: James H. B,gley Forrest E. Liles Commissioner Lindgren moved that applications be approved and license granted. Notion adopted. A petition was presented for the curbing and guttering of Wilson Otreet from Fourth Street to Front Street. Referred to he City Manager. A petition was presented for the curbing and guttering of Third Street from Republic Avenue to Wilson Street. Referred to the City Manager. A letter was resented from the City Planning Commission regarding southwest corner intersection of Otis and Santa Fe Avenue, across from St. John's School. Referred to the City Manager. A letter was presented from the City Planning Commission recommending that North 100 feet of Lot 6, Block 21 Brown's Addition be rezoned from "A" Residential to "B" Residential. Commissioner Stephenson moved that report be approved by the Board of Commissioners and that City Clerk give thirty days notice in the official City paper of intent to rezone from "A" Residential to "B" Residential the North 100 feet of Lot 6, Block 2, Brown's Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas, and to write Ervin Wehmeier to file plans and specifications of proposed structure. Motion adopted. A better was presented from the City Planning Commission recommending that East 62z feet of Lots 15 and 16, Block 3, Southern heights Addition be rezoned to "C" Commercial. Referred to the City Manager. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance prescrib- ing rates for consumption and use of water, outside the limits of the City of Salina, produced and sold by the Waterworks Department of the City of Salina, Kansas. Ordi- nance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. J.W . Carney appeared about house moving in area bounded by Fourth, Seventh, Walnut and Ash Streets. Noyce approved. Carried. City Manager read letter from Chief of Police regarding taxicab drivers license issued to Paul namsey. Commissioner L)tephenson moved that Chief of Police suspend license pending further developments in District Court. Carried. A petition was received f rom property owners of SW -1 4 of 14 Section 24, Township 14, South, Range 3, West of sixth Principal lAeridian, Saline County, Kansas, to bring into City limits. Referred to City Manager and City Engineer to check size of area. City Manager presented Audit Reports of D. N. Turner for 1947, to the Board of Commissioners. City Clerk instructed to receive bids for 1948 Audit.
