Meeting was called to order by 14ayor Stedham, the roll was called and Commissioners Stedham, Lindgren, Noyce and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Price absent. The minutes of the Regular Leeti ng of October 4, 1948 were read and approved as read. Lloyd H. Cook appeared in person regarding his 'taxicab Drivers License Num- ber 125. Commissioner Lindgren moved that matter be referred to he City Manager to get information from the Police Department files for next Monday's Meeting. Carried. Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1948 presented as follows: W. R. Fisher Fred J. Johnson Commissioner Stephenson moved that applications be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. Trust Deed, with a deposit of :100.00 was presented from The Farmers National Bank, hxecutor of harvey D. Jiiller, Estate, for the perpetual care of the South One- half of Lot 42, Block 5, Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Ste- phenson moved that Deed be approved by the Board of Commissioners and City Treasurer be instructed to place deposit in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery Lot Owners' Endowment Fund as provided by Ordinance Number 3530 of the City of Salina, Kansas. Motion adopted. City Engineer submitted Partial Estimate Number 3 in the amount of $43,701.07 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for curbing, guttering and paving improvements provided for under Contract awarded June 7, 1948, known as Job Number 243. Commis- sioner Noyce moved that same beapproved by the Board of Commissioners. kotion adopted. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving and grading of a certain north and south alley between Twelfth Street and Thirteenth Street from the south line of Bishop Street south to the south 1 line of Lot 6,extended west, on Twelfth Street, in Weaver's Second Addition, to the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stedham, Lindgren, Noyce and Stephenson (4) Nays: l0) Commissioner Price absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 1075. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 71 Resolution Book Number 4. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the vacation of portions of certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption tLe roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stedham, Lindgren, Noyce and Stephenson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Price absent. kayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5346• An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining a certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer District in the City of Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral San.tary Sewer District Number 233, and provid- ing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewerin said Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 233 so created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in said district for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay th cost thereof." Onmction of Commissioner Stephenson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Stedham, Lindgren, Noyce and Stephenson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Price absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5347• A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing, guttering and paving of Seventh Street from the center line of Decatur Street tothe center line of Grand Rvenue." Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Bids to be received up to and including Monday, November 8th, 1948 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certan, claims." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stedl-iam, Noyce and Price (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Lindgren and Stephenson absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-440. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stedham., Noyce and Price (3) Nays: 0) Commissioners Lindgren and Stephenson absent. wayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-441. Commissioner Price moved that JoLar Dairies Oil Yiell Application be referred back to show location of structures. Motion adopted. Letter was presented from Chief of Police regarding Taxicab Drivers License issued to Charles L. Yonce, September 3, 1948. Commissioner Noyce moved that license be revoked. Motion adopted.
