Twiize, Attorney, responded. Com- missioner Stedham Und City Attorney Clark absent. The minutes of the Regular keetirg of June 7, 1948 were read and approved as read. Mr. Hernandez appeared before the Board of Commissioners about water at 613 ! and 615 North Third Street, Jones Addition. City Manager advised it would be a i s month or six weeks before water can be installed. Building Application No. 1769 was presented from R. J. Laubengayer, for the erection of a building at 416 South Santa Fe "venue. Commissioner Lindgren moved that a set -back of fifteen (15) feet and side on property line be approved. Motion adopted. Wilson and Company, Engineers, filed plans and specifications for municipal Airport. Commissioner Price moved that same be tabled one week, and on roll call the following vote was had; Ayes: Lindgren, Price and Stephenson (3) idays: Noyce - (1) Commissioner Stedham absent. A petition was presented from Lloyd W. Lewis, for the rezoning of Lot 173, s FourtY Street, Original Town, from "B" Residential to "C" Commercial. Referred to City Planning Commission. Tullis, for the perpetual care of the South 1/2 of Lot 22, Block 17, Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina„ Kansas. Commissioner Noyce moved that Deed be approved by the Board of Commission- ers and City Treasurer be instructed to place the deposit in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery Lot owner's Endowment Fund as provided by Ordinance number 3530 of the City of Salina, Kansas. City Engineer submitted Partial Estimate Number 4 in the amount of 8479.29 to Brown and Brown, Inc. for construction of Swimming Pool at Carver Center. Commis- sioner Price moved that same be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Lotion adopted. Motion adopted. 342 No persons appeared to protest against the rezoning of the North 110 feet of Lot 19, Ash Street, University Addition, from "A" Residential to "B" Residential. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the inclusion of certain lands in the City of Salina, i�ansas, in the "B" Residential District, as that district is defined in Section 4 of Ordinance Number 3188 and providing for the proper uses thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. J.-�aylor Construction Company for the construction of certain lateral sanitary sewer in the City of Salina, heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 224, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Lindgren the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Stephenson, Lindgren, Noyce and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stedham absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5312. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance author- izing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of 00,661.36, to pay the cost of improving certain streets in said City to be designated as Series Number ?-142." On motion of Commissioner trice the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stephenson, Lindgren, ?rice and Noyce (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stedham absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5313. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $68,912.23, to pay the cost of improving certain streets in said. City, to be designated as Series Number ?-143." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stephenson, Lindgren, Noyce and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stedham absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered. 5314• City Engineer filed plans and specifications for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 226. Commissioner Price moved that same be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Lotion adopted. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Wilson Street from the west line of Sherman Street to the east line of Custer Street." Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts in the City of Salina designated as Lateral Sanitary )ewer Districts number 227, 228 and 229, and providing for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers ins aid Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts num- bered 227, 228 and 229, so created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the propert"r in said districts and for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof."
