Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Stephenson, the roll was called and Commission- ers Stephenson, Lindgren, Price and Stedham and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Noyce absent. The minutes of the Regular keeting of April 5th, 1948, and April 12th, 1948 were read and approved as read. Carl Ramsey, Paul Hei nlen and Jim Ludes appeared before the Board of Com- missioners regarding Fireworks License. Matter was referred to the City manager to check with County and other cities. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving of Columbia Avenue from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north line of Gypsum Avenue." Resolution referred to the Board of Commis- sioners. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Stedham the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stephenson, Lindgren, Price and Stedham (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner :Noyce absent.Actkayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-420. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stephenson, Lindgren, Price and Stedham (4) i4ays: (0) Commissioner jiv'oyce absent. Taylor Construction Company, for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer No. 221 (Job No. 238). Commissioner Stedham moved that estimate be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Stedham moved that estimate be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted, City Engineer submitted Final Estimate of Cost for the paving of alley between Fourth and Fifth Streets from Iviulberry to Walnut Street; and the alley between Santa Fe -Avenue and Seventh Street from Elm Street to 532 feet north, both known as Job No. 233. Commissioner Stedham moved that estimate be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Concrete Construction Bond was presented from Albert A. Olson, and on motion of Commissioner Stedham approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. — Trust Deed, with a deposit of X75.00 was presented from Harold S. Fry, Executor of 'William L. Fry, estate, for the perpetual care of the south one-half of Lot 15, Block 25 in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Price moved that Deed be approved by the Board of Commissioners and City Treasurer be instructed to place the deposit in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery Lot Owners Lndovanent Fund as provided by Ordinance Number 3530 of the City of Salina, Kansas. Motion adopted. Trust Deed, with a deposit of *100.00 was presented from C. E. Joslin, for the perpetual care of all of Lot 28, Flock 20, in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Price moved that Deed be approved by the Board of Commissioncrs and City Treasurer instructed to place the deposit in the C�psum Hill Cemetery Lot Owners Endowment Fund as provided by Ordinance No. 3530 of the City of Salina, Kansas. Motion adopted. Commission Price moved that estimate be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motionadopted. Gentlemen: The excavation, paving and other construction incidental thereto, of the paving of alley between Fourth and Fifth Streets from Mulberry to Walnut Street, and the alley between Santa Fe "venue and Seventh Street, from Elm Street to 532 feet north, both known as Job No. 233 and constructed by Brown and brown Inc., Salina, Kansas, has been completed and final inspection made by the Engineering Department. The construction under this contract has been com- pleted in compliance with plans and specifications of contract and therefor your acceptance of the work is recommended. _.
