03-15-1948 MinutesCOMkISSIONhRS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the inclusion of certain lands in the City of Salina in the "C" Commercial District as that district is defined by Section 5 of Ordinance iio. 3188 and the amendments thereto and providing for the proper use thereof." On motion of Commissioner Stedham the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Noyce, Price, Stedham and Stephenson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Lindgren absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5285• Claim in the amount of 69.64 for auto damages was presented from R. F. Modig. Commissioner Price moved that City Manager have full description of accident ag listed in Police Department for next meeting. Carried. Letter was presented from the City Planning Commission calling to the attention of the City Commissioners the flagrant violation at the Northeast corner intersection of South Street and Fifth Street. Commissioner Price moved that matter be referred to the City Manager. Letter was presented from City Planning Commission regarding violation of Zoning Ordinance on the east side of Fourth Street between South Street and Center Street. Commissioner Stedham moved that matter be referred to the City Manager. City Planning Commission recommended that Lot Number 12, Block 1,Tucker Park Addition be rezoned from Class "A" kesidential to Class "C" Commercial. Commissioner Price moved that report be approved by the Board of Commissioners and that City Clerk give thirty days notice in the official City paper of intent to rezone from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial, Lot 12, Block 1, Tucker Park Addition, Salina, Kansas. Motion adopted. Letter was presented from the City Planning Commission recommending that alley between Osborne and Quincy and bound on the south by Cloud and on the nortL by Russell, not be vacated. Meeting was j called to order by Mayor Noyce, the roll was called and Commissioners Noyce, Price, i Stedhaand Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Lindgren m absent. The minutes of the Regular kaeeting of karch 8, 1918 were read and approved as read, A petition was presented from L. M. Cloud, H. IV. urosswy, Floyd h;. Swartz and Clarice A. Swartz, to include in City limits a tract of land lying west of Eleventh Street between Claflin Avenue and Cloud Street. Petition was referred to City Planning Commission. A petition was presented for the curbing and guttering of Hamilton Street between Ninth Street and Eleventh Street, Petition was referred to City Manager and City Engineer. Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1948 presented as follows: Lloyd A. Winegarner James C. Powell Commissioner Price moved that applications be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Montrose Avenue from the center line of Charles Street to the center line of Prescott Avenue." City Engineer submitted Partial Estimate No. 1, in the amount of $2086.00 to Brown and Brown inc., for constrction of Swimming Pool (Job No. 237). Commis- sioner Price moved that estimate be accepted by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to issuance of Temporary Note in the amount of $10,000.00. On mti.on of Commissioner Price resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Noyce, Price, Stedham and Stephenson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Lindgren absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 1036. Plumber 4.
