An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance provid-
ing for the inclusion of certain lands in the City of Salina in the "C" Commercial
District as that district is defined by Section 5 of Ordinance No. 3188 and the
amendments thereto, and providing for the proper use thereof." Ordinance was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Wilson Street from the west line
of Custer Street west to the east line of Sheridan Street."
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson ti,e resolution was adopted as read and
on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Noyce, Lindgren, ?rice, Stedham and Stephenson (5) i+ays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is numbered 1033•
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 26, Resolution Book Number 4.
Agreement was entered into between the City of Salina and L. E. Fink, regarding
the rezoning from Class "A" Residential to Class "B" Residential, Lot 8, Block 14,
Oakdale Addition, Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Stedham moved that agreement be
approved by the Board of Commissioners. idotion adopted.

Residential District, as defined by Section 4 of Ordinance Number 3188, as amended,
and providing for the proper use thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Stedham the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Noyce, Lindgren, Price, Stedham-nd Stephenson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5284.

Regular iv.eeting of the Board of Commissioners March 8, 1948. Meeting was
called to order by Layor Noyce, the roll was called and Commissioners Noyce, Lindgren,
Stedham, Price and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded.

The minutes of the Regular Meeting of lli:arch 11 1948 were read and approved
as read.

Commissioner ?rice moved teat application be rejected by the Board of Commis-
sioners. Motion adopted.
Ronald C. Smith, d/b/a Jukes Grocery, 200 East Pacific, appeared before the
Board of Commissioners, on notice served by the City Attorney, to show cause why
his Beer License No. 9289 should not be revoked. Commissioner Stephenson
moved that Ronald C. Smith be placed on probation for 180 days from Larch 8, 1948.
Lotion carried.
Band contract for the year 1948 was presented and on motion of Commissioner
Stedham approved by the Board of Commissioners. irLotion carried.
No persons appeared to protest against the rezoning from Class "B" Residential
to Class "C" Commercial, the North 80 feet of Lot 4, Santa Fe Avenue, Holland's
Addition, Salina, Kansas.

Obligation Bonds (Series P-139), by the Firemen's Relief Association of the City
of balina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Noyce, Lindgren, Price, Stedham and Stephenson (5) Nays: (0) 'ayor approved
the resolution and it is numbered 1031.

City Engineer filed plans and specifications for the construction of Lateral
Sanitary Sewer Number 221, and on motion of Commissioner Price approved by the Board
of Commissioners.
City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for the construction of
Lateral Sanitary Sewers numbered 220 and 221, to be received up to and including
Monday, March 22, 1948 at 7:30 P. M.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of ivontrose Street from the center
line of Charles Street to the center line of Prescott Avenue." Resolution was
referred to the Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Stephenson moved that action on petition asking for the
rezoning of Lot 91 South ninth Street, Surveyor's Plat "A" from Class "B" Residential
to Class "C" Commercial, be continued for two weeks. Motion carried.
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
