FEBRUARY 16, 1948
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 16, 1948. JAeeting
was called to order by Mayor Noyce, the roll was called and Commissioners Noyce,
Lindgren, Price, Stedham and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Ieeting of February 9, 1948 and Special Meeting
of February 9, 1948, were read and approved as read.

Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1948 presented as
George L. Nelson
Harold S. Taylor
Commissioner Stedham moved that applications be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
W. P. Titus asked permission to transfer his Beer License No. 9270 from
136 North Santa Fe Avenue to 143 North Seventh Street. Commissiont.r Price moved
that permission be granted. Motion adopted.
Claim was presented from Wayne Rotrock, Manchester, Kansas, for damage
to his car by the Salina Fire Department, January 30th, 1948. (Woolworth Store
fire). City Attorney stated the City is not liable for said claim. Commis-
sioner Price moved that claim not be paid. Motion adopted.
No persons appeared to protest against the rezoning of Lots 1,2,3,4,5,6,
7 and 9, Block 9, Pacific Addition from Class "A" Residential to Class "C" Com-
nerci al.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the inclusion of certain land in the City of Salina in "C" Commercial
District, as defined in Section 5 of Ordinance Number 3188 and providing for the
proper uses thereof." Ordinance was referred to the City Planning Commission.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for and regulating and moving of buildings to be employed as dwellings,
from one place to another within and from without to within the City of Salina and
providing penalties and forfeitures for the violation thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Stedham the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Noyce, Lindgren, Price, Stedham and Stephenson (5) Nays: lO)
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5278.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
creating and defining a certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer District in the City of
Salina designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 220, and providing for
the construction of a Lateral Sanitary Sewer in said Lateral Sanitary Sewer District
Number 220 so created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for
the levying of special assessments against the property in said district for the
payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the
cost thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Noyce, Price, Stedham and Stephenson (5) Nays: (0) mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered 5279.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption tie roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Noyce, Lindgren, Price, Stedham and Stephenson (5) Nays: (0) Payor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 1-412.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Lindgren the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption tie roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Noyce, Lindgren, Price, Stedham and Stephenson (5) flays: (0) Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-413.
On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
