Meeting was called to order by Mayor Noyce, the roll was called and Commissioners Noyce, Price, Lindgren, Stedham and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regular lveeting of February 2, 1948 were read and ap- proved as read. Applications for taxicab drivers license for tree year 1948 presented as follows: C. W. Oberg Ray A. McMullen Victor Farr On motion of Commissioner Price applications were approved and license granted. Motion adopted. A petition was presented from M. H. Beckett, to rezone to "D" Light Industrial District, as defined by Section 6 of Ordinance No. 3188, the follow- ing described land: Beginning at a point 445 feet west of the southeast corner of the Northwest quarter of Section 11, Township 14, South, Range 3, West of the Sixth Principal iueridian, in Saline County, Kansas; thence north and parallel with the west line of said Quarter Section 190 feet more or less, to the center of the old channel of Dry Creek, thence in a northeasterly direction along the center of the channel of Dry Creek to a point where said center line touches the west line of U. S. Highway By -Pass; thence east to the center of said Highway; thence in a south- westerly direction down the center of said Highway to its intersection with the south line of the North 1/2 of said Section 11, thence west along said line to the place of beginning. Referred to the City Planning Commission. Jim Wymore appeared before the Burd of Commissioners regarding building on property west of Second Street on East Pacific Street, 30 -foot setback. Approved by Commissioner Stephenson. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for and regulating and moving of buildings to be employed as dwellings, from one place to another within and from without to within the City of Salina, and providing penalties and forfeitures for the violation thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining a certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer District in the City of Salina designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 220, and providing for the construction of a Lateral Sanitary Sewer ins aid Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 220 so created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special, assessments against the property in said district for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. City Engineer submitted Partial Estimate No. 1 in the amount of X5,332.31 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company, for the construction of main Sanitary Sewer "W" and Lateral Sanitary Sewers 218 and 219 (Job No. 236). On motion of Com- missioner Price estimate was approved by the Board of Commissioners. A communication was presented from Leslie Kreps Post No. 62, American Legion, regarding houses for War Veterans. Ordered filed by Commissioner Price. Commissioner Price moved that City Lanager make survey of drainage in the southeast part of Salina, between Front .Street and Second Street, south of Craw- ford Avenue. Motion adopted. i Wayne Rotrock appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding damage to his car by the Salina Fire Department, January 30th, 1948, (Woolworth Store Fire). lie was advised to file claim voucher.
