Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 81 1947. keeting
was called to order by Mayor Noyce, the roll was called and Commissioners Noyce,
Lindgren,' Price and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner
Stedham absent.
The minutes of the Regi.lar Meeting of December 11 1947 were read and
approved as read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1947 presented as
follows:
Robert h. Yoder
Leonard R. Henry
Basil M. iviiller
Commissioner Price moved that applications be approved and license granted.

Commissioner Stephenson moved that application be rejected by the Board of
Commissioners. Motion adopted.

He was told to wait until City i4,anager made survey and he would be notified.
A petition was presented a:rom P. R. hrich and others, against the rezoning
of the North 72 feet, Lot 9, South Ninth Street, Surveyor's Plat "A" to "C" Commercial.
Referred to City Planning Commission.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
` creating an,i defining certain Lateral Sanitary SeNver Districts in the City of Salina
designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts No. 218 and 219, and providing for
I the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers insaid Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts
Number 218 ana 21) so created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and
for the levying of special assessments against the property insaid districts for the
payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost
thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had.: Ayes:
Noyce, Lindgren, Price and Stephenson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dtedham. absent.

A petition was presented from titim. M. Reimold asking for the rezoning of
Lot 12, Santa Fe "venue, Grounds of Kansas WesleyanUniversity from "A" Residential
to "C" Commercial. Referred to City Planning Commission.
A petition was presented from Santa Fe Railroad Company for rezoning from
"D" Light industrial to "L" heavy industrial, Park 1, a triangular section of land
lying; at the northwest corner of Park Street and Broadway Boulevard in the City of
Salina, Kansas. Referred to City Planning Commission.
I A petition was presented from Lloyd Morrison, to close alley running north
and south, in Block 9, Pacific Addition. Referred to City Planning Commission.
A petition was presented from Lloyd Morrison for the rezoning of Lots 1, 2,
3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9, Block 9, Pacific Addition from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial.
Referred to City Planning Commission.
Commissioner Stephenson moved that petition asking for the rezoning of Lot 8,
Block 14, Oakdale Addition, be referred back to the City Planning Commission, and
that City Attorney write letter no control if structure is eligible within "B" Resi-
dential District. lootion adopted.
A letter was presented from the Board of Lducation permitting the City to use
the newly acquired grade school site in the southeast part of the City, for a play-
ground, until such time as it may be necessary to use this site for school building
purposes. Ordered filed.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
relating to traffic and regulating the use of public streets anu highways in the
City of -Salina; prescribing regulations relative to the parking of vehicles upon
such public streets and highways; providing for purchase, leasing, acquiring,
installation, operation, maintenance, supervision, regulation and control of use
of parking meters; defining and providing for the establishment of parking meter
zones upon the public streets and-highways and providing for the payment thereof;
providing for an enforcement and providing penalties for the violation tf_ereof
and providing for the repeal of Ordinance No. 5121. Ordinance was referred
to the &yard of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Lindgren the ward of Commissioners adjourned.
