Regular Weeti ng of the Board of Commissioners November 10, 1947. Meeting
was called to order by kayor Noyce, the roll was called and Commissioners Noyce,
Stedham and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioners Lindgren
and Price absent.
The minutes of the Reg lar Meeting of November 3, 1)47 were read and approved
as read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1947 presented as
follows:
Gerald Regmier
Bob `'chmidt
Andrew Younger
Commissioner Stephenson moved that applications be approved and license
granted. Motion adopted.
Fred Adams, representing electricians of the City of Salina, appeared
before the Board of Commissioners and presented a suggested ordinance governing
electrical wiring in City of Salina. Referred to City Attorney and City
Manager.
Leroy Primappeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding his Beer
Application presented to the Board of Commissioners regarding Beer Application
presented tothe Board of Commissioners September 22, 1947. He was asked to
wait another week until all members of the Commission are present. Motion adopted.
A petition was presented from Larry Outsch for E. M. Sutton asking for the
rezoning of the West 125 feet of Lot 7, Blohk L;. Replat of Beebe's 2nd Addition to
"B" Residential. Petition was referred to the City Planning Commission.
A petition was presented from the Board. of Education to include in City
limits the N. W. 4 of N.E.4 of Section 24-14-3, Saline County, Kansas. Commis-
sioner Stedham moved that petition be tabled for two weeks, and that City Manager
write to company's that make a business of City Planning. Carried.
City Engineer submitted Partial Estimate No. 3, in the amount of X78,590.37
to H. J. Taylor Construction Company, Salina, Kansas, for curbing, guttering and/or
paving certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, under contract dated June
30, 1947, (Job No. 230). On motion of Commissioner Stephenson approved by
the Board of Commissioners. Motionadopted.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to he curbing and guttering the north side of Cloud Street between Ninth
Street and Highland Avenue." :Resolut on was referred to the Board of Com-
missioners.
Commissioner Stedham moved that City Manager order Ducan Miller meters,
and City Manager be authorized to sign contract. Motion adopted.
An ord. was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating
and defining a certain Main Sewer District in the Cit of Salina, designating as
Main Sewer District "W"; providing for the construction of a Main Sewer insaid
district; providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of
special assessments against the propert in such district for the payment of such
cost, and for the issuing of bonds therefor," Ordinance was referred to the
Board of Commissioners. `
An ordinance was introduced for first readin g entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the construction of a pumping station for the purpose of pumping
the sewage from blain Sewer District "W" and thr extensions thereof, into the
existing sewer located in t e intersection ofFburth Street and an east and west pub-
lic alley next north of Beloit Avenue in order to conduct to sewage of Main Sew-
er "W" to a point of outlet, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof."
Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the construction of a pumping station for the purpose of pumping the
sewage of Main Sewer District "K" and extensions thereof into the existing sewer
located in the intersection of Santa re and Bond Street in order to conduct the
sewage of blain Sewer District "K" to a point of outlet, and providing for the payment
of the cost thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
