09-08-1947 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. SEPTEMBER 8, 1947 1-97 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners September 8, 1947. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Noyce, the roll was called and Commissioners Noyce, Lindgren, Price, Stedham and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 2, 1947 were read and approved as read. Pursuant to notice published in the �ina Journal bids were received for the paving of the alley lying between Santa, Fe Avenue and Seventh Street from Elm Street, north 532 feet north; and alley lying between Fourth Street nd Fifth Street from Walnut Street to 1,1ulverry Street, as follows: Brown & Brown, Inc., Salina, Kansas $9,726.50 H.J.Taylor Construction Company, Salina, Kansas 10,302.00 City Engineer's Estimate in the amount of $10,201.80 was read. Bids were tabulated by the City Engineer. Mayor Noyce appointed J. Earl Wyatt, John Frederick and Wm. F. crosser, Jr., to act as appraisers in ascertaining the valuation of certain lots and pieces of ground liable to special assessment for the cost of paving the alley lying between Santa Fe Avenue and Seventh Street from Elm Street north 532 feet; and the alley lying between Fourth Street and Fifth Street from Walnut Street to Mulberry Street. Commissioner Stephenson moved that appointments be confirmed by the Board of Commis- sioners. Motion adopted. I� Mayor Noyce appointed J. Earl Wyatt, John Frederick and Wm. F. crosser, Jr., I to act as appraisers in ascertaining the valuation of certain lots and pieces of ground liable to special assessment for the cost of constructing Lateral Sanitary Sewers 216 and 217, and Main Sewer "V". Commissioner Stephenson moved that appointments be confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Graves, building permit. Commissioner Price moved that he make formal appli- cation with Building Inspector and City Manager. A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sewer in the alley lying between Republic Avenue and Beloit Avenue from 4d ncy Street to Beloit Avenue. Petition referred to the City Manager and City Engineer. City Planning Commission, to whom was referred the petition asking for the rezoning of Lots 1, 3 and 5, Block 46, Military Addition, from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial, recommended that Lot 5 be rezoned to "C" Commercialm since Lots 1 and 3 j have heretofore been rezoned to "C" Commercial. Action on same tabled for two weeks (September 22, 1947), on motion of Commissioner Stephenson. City Planning Commission recommended that all ground east of Highway 81 By -Pass I I from Walnut Street to Republic Avenue, not now in the City be taken into the City limits. Commissioner Stephenson moved that action on same be tabled for two weeks (September 222 1947)• Motionadopted. M. was desig- nated as a Special Meeting to act on said reports, and that the City Clerk give notice of such meeting in the official City paper as provided by law. Motion adopted. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing and guttering of Third Street from the south line of Forest -avenue, south 150 feet." Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
