Leeting was called to order by Payor Noyce, the roll was called and Commissioners Noyce, Lindgren, Price, Stedham and Stephenson responded. City Attorney Clark absent. The minutes of the Regular fleeting of August 16, 1947 were read and approved as read. City Planning Commission, to whom was referred the petition asking for the rezoning of Lot 2, Block 20, Episcopal Military Addition, Salina, Kansas, from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial, recommended that lot be rezoned to "C" Commercial. Commissioner Price moved that recommendation of Planning Commission be approved, and that the City Clerk give notice in the official City paper of intent to rezone from "A" Residential, to "C" Commercial, Lot 2, Block 20, Episcopal hdli tary institute Addition, Salina, Kansas. ldotion ,adopted. City Planning Commission, to whom was referred the petition asking for the rezoning of the East b2� feet of Lots 15 and 16, Block 1, and the 'u�est 42� feet of Lots 15 and 16, Block 1, Southern Heights Addition from "A" Residential to "B" Resi- dential, recommend that above described property be rezoned to "B" Residential, subject to the approval of plans to be submitted later. %lotion adopted. City Planning; Commission, to whom was referred the petition asking for the vacating of a portion of alley lying between Lots 6 to 12 and Lots 35 to 41, Block 10, Calkin's Addition, Salina, Kansas, recommends that, that portion of the alley above described be vacated. 1,iotion adopted. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing, guttering, grading and otherwise improving of Third Street from the north line of North Street to lie south line of Union Pacific Railroad Right-of- VVay. " I On motion of Commissioner Stedham the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; ayes: Noyce, Lindgren, Price, Stedham and Stephenson (5) Nays: (0) Llayor approved the resolu- tion and it is numbered 1004. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 393, Resolution Book Number 3. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing and guttering and grading of Wilson Street from the west line of Sheridan Street to east line of lvaerrill Street." -� On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Noyce, Lindgren, Price, Stedham and Stephenson (5) Nays: (0) Layor approved the resolu- tion and it is numbered 1005. A petition was presented asking for the rezoning of Lots 1, 3 and 5, Block 46, Episcopal ivlli.tary institute Addition from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial. Referred to t he C_ty Planning Commission. Emery Klein appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding reduction in taxicab fares. Latter referred to City Manager. 194 City Engineer filed plans and specifications for the pavin<; of the alley lying between Fourth Street and Fifth Street from Walnut Street to Mulberry Street; and for the paving of the alley lying between Santa Fe Avenue and Seventh Street from Elm Street, north 532 feet. On motion of Commissioner Stedham same were approved by the Board of Commissioners, and the City Clerk was instructed to give notice in the official City paper that bids for such improvements will be received up to and including Monday, September 81 1947 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Iviotion adopted. A resolution was introdu--ed for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the paving and grading and other^ -Arise improving of Grand Avenue from the west line of Eighth Street to the east line of Ninth Street," Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving and grading and othenci se improving of Tenth Street from the south line of Harsh Avenue to the north line of Hanilton Avenue.'" Resolution was referred to the Bard of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving and grading and otherwise improving of Chicago Street from the north line of Ash Street tc tide north line of Park Street." Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Building Application Number 1226m ycresented from Floyd Corum. Price moved that Lr. Corum abide by ordinance. Motion carried. Building Application Number 1222 presented from Busboom and Rauh. Stephenson moved that same be approved. Motion carried. Commissioner Stedham moved that Carney moving application be approved. On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned to meet in regular session, Tuesday, September 2, 1947, on account of Monday, September 1st, is Labor Day.
