Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 28, 1947. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Noyce, the roll was called and Commissioners Noyce, Price,
Lindgren, Stedham and Stephenson and City Attorney Clark responded.
as read. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 21, 1947 were read and approved

Commissioner Price moved that applications be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
W. M. Boswell appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding sewer
in the 600 block on South Udrd Street. Referred to the dity kanager.
James Wesley Roe appeared in person regarding notice as to whether or
not his Beer License should be revoked. Commissioner Stephenson moved that Mr.
Rose be placed on probation for sixty days from July 28th, 1917. Lotion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the inclusion of certain lands in t1C" Commercial District, as that
district is defined in Section 5 of Ordinance No. 3188 and providing for the proper
use of each thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
gad; Ayes: Noyce, Lindgren, Price, Stedham and Stephenson (5) Nays: (0) Ma�,or
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5236.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing and guttering and otherwise improving of Pershing Street
from the south line of Kirwin Avenue to the north line of Claflin Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Stedham the resolution was adopted as read and
on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Noyce, Lindgren, Price, Stedham and Stephenson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
resolution and it is numbered 998.

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing and guttering and otlerwise improving the north side of
Claflin Avenue beginning at the present curbing and guttering which is ten feet
west of the southwest corner of Lot 20, Block 21 Pleasant View Addition, City of Salina,
Kansas, thence west to the east line of Pershing Street."
On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and
on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Noyce, Lindgren, Price, Stedham and Stephenson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
resolution and it is numbered 999.

Number 3.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing and guttering of Prescott Avenue from the east line of
Phillips Street to the west line of Montrose Street."
On motion of Commissioner Lindgren tlje resolution was adopted as read and
on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Noyce,
Price, Lindgren, Stedham and Stephenson (5) Nays: (0) Ivayor approved -Ule resolution
and it is numbered 1000.

An ordinance was introduced for third reading entitled: "An ordinance
granting to Enoch B. Harris and H. G. Angwin, doing business as Salina Transit
Company, a partnership, and their successors, assigns and lessees, a franchise
for the operation of a motor bus transportation system in the (Lty of Salin, Kan-
sas,and repealing Ordinance No. 1551 and all other ordinances of the City of Salina
supplemental or amendatory thereto or in conflict with this ordinance."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Royce, Lindgren, Price, Stedham and Stephenson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is numbered 5237•
A petition was presented from Frank Fessler asking for the rezoning of Lots
2 and 33 South View Addition, from "At' Residential to "B" Residential. Referred to
the City Planning Commission.
A petition was presented to take Edgetown Park Addition into the City limits.
On motion of Commissioner Price referred t o the City Planning Commission, and ask
them to consider all of the property south of Crawford Avenue, between the By -Pass
and the east line of Missouri Pacific Railroad. Motion adopted.
City Manager read a letter from the Parking and Traffic Committee of the
Chamber of Commerce, relating to parking and traffic situations in the City of Salina.
On motion of Commissioner Price letter was filed and given consideration, and the
City Manager check the cost of new meter heads and additional meters in every park-
ing space. Motion carried.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance rati-
fying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the
construction of certain lateral sanitary sewers in the City of Salina, heretofore
designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewers Districts 214 and 215, nd providing for the
issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost t ereof pending issuance and sale of
bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Co mmissioners.
City Manager submitted to the Board of Commissioners, tentative budget for
the year 1948. City Clerk was instructed to give notice in the official City
paper that a public hearing on said budget will be held, August 15th, 1947 at 7:30
oIclock P. M., in the City Commissioners' Meeting Room, City Hall, Salina, Kansas.
On motion of Commissioner otephenson the Board of Commission rs adjourned.

relating to the curbing and guttering and grading and otherwise improving of
Antrim Avenue from the west line of ninth Street to the center line of
Eleventh Street." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A Resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing and guttering and grading and otherwise improving of
Tenth Street from the center line of Antrim Avenue to the south line of Ines
Avenue." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
