Meeting was called to order by hilayor Noyce, the roll was called and Commissioners Noyce, Lindgren, Price and Stedham and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Stephenson absent. The minutes of the Reg,ilar Meeting of June 30, 1947 were read and approved as read. Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1947 presented as follows: Philip Hollingsworth Commissioner Price moved that application be approved and license granted. klotion adopted. A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sewer from Wilson Street, south between Front Street and Second Street, to 930 South Front Street. Petition was referred to City Engineer and City Manager. Lr. S. M. Itepaz and 11r. J. R. Brust, appeared before the Board of Commission- " ers, regarding auctions. The Vatter was referred to the City Manager. Mr. Ote Faulkner appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding house j at Front and Wilson, about 40 -foot setback. Referred to he City Lanager. j An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the inclusion of certain lands in the City of Salina in "B" residential District, providing for the inclusion of certain lands in "C" Commercial District, as those districts are respectively defined in Sections 4 and 5 of Ordinance No. 3188 1 and providing for the proper use of each thereof." I On motion of Corunissioner Stedham the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Noyce, Lindgren, Price and Stedham (4) Iuays: (0) Commissioner ! Gentlemen: i The excavating, laying of pipe, backfilling and grading of Storm Sewer No. 25, known as the Antrim Avenue Storm Sewer, cors tructed b;, II. J. Taylor Con- struction Company of Salina, Kansas, under contract dated October 14, 1946, has been completed and final inspection made by this office. I have found that the work has been performed and i completed in compliance with plans and speicfications of said contract and therefore recommend that the work be accepted. On motion of Commissioner Price approved by the Board of Commissioners. i�:otion adopted. 162 An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizing and providing for the issuance f bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of '65,000.00 to pay the cost of purchasing land for park purposes and the cost of erecting building on and improving; the park system of said 8ity, to be designated as Series E-138; and authorizing the issuance of temporary notes pending the sale and issuance of said bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing and guttering and grading and otherwise improving of Johnstown Avenue from the east I ne of Ohio Avenue to tY.e center line of Rivers de Boulevard." Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissiort- rs. Commissioner Stedham moved that the City Manager check with the Standard Oil Company and Railroad regarding; petition asking for the curbing, guttering and paving of Third Itreet from Forest Avenue, south approximately 150 feet. Iv.otion adopted. City Engineer filed plans acid specifications for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 215. Commissioner Price moved that same be approved by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City C-erk give notice in the official City paper that bids will be received for such improvement up to and including Londay, July 21, 1947 at 7.30 o'clock P. Iv2. Lotion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Noyce, Lindgren, Price and Stedham (4) Mays: (0) Commissioner Stephenson absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-384. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
