Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 2, 1947. ideeting was called
to order by Mayor Noyce, the roll was called and Commissioners Noyce, Lindgren, Price
and otephenson and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Stedham absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 26, 1947 were read and approved as
read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1947 presented as fol-
lows:

Commissioner Price moved that applications be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
Application presented from Dan D. Shore, May 26, 1947, asking for Cereal
Malt Leverage License, was again taken up by the Board of Commissioners. Commmis-
sioner Stephenson moved that application be rejected, because of lack of approval
by the Police Department. Motion adopted.
`'ommissioner Lindgren moved that petition presented from P. W. Casper asking
for the rezoning from "B" Residential to "C" Commercial, the West 60 feet of South
80 feet of Lot 10, Block 13, South Park Addition, Salina, Kansas, and rejected by the
Board of Commissioners Liay 26th, 1947, be reconsidered. kotion adopted.
The matter was referred to the City Manager.
Par. Adams, appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding closing of
alley between Seventh Street and Santa re Avenue, from woodland Avenue north 200 feet.
Referred to the City kanager and City Attorney.
Commissioner Price moved that Building Application Number 1086 presented from
Jim Kohr be granted. Mr. Kohr to set garage close to property line on alley line,
and five foot set -back on south property line. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro-
viding for the salaries of the Judge, Marshal and Clerk of the City Court of Z>alina,
the payment thereof and repealing Section 8 of Ordinance No. 3767."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Noyce, Lindgren, Price and Otephenson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stedham
absent. ivayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5223•
Oil Lease for Chas. W. Sheldon, for Airport and Kenwood Park, was presented.
Referred to the City Manager.
Oil Lease for Riggs Prothers, for Airport and Kenwood Park was presented.
Referred to the City Manager.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of Eleventh
Street from Pacific Street to Harsh Avenue. Referred to the City Manager.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating
and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of Salina designated
as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Listrict No. 214, so created, providing for the payment of
the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in
said district; for the payment of the cost of such construction; and for he issuing of
bonds therefor." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: An ordinance ratify-
ing and confirming a contract wit the H.J. Taylor Construction Company for the con-
struction of certain lateral sanitary sewers in the Cita of Salina, heretofore desig-
nated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts No. 210, 2112 212 and 213, and for the
construction of certain kviain Sewers in Main Sewer District "T" and blain Sewer District
"U", heretofore created, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay
the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds." Ordinance was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
Mayor Noyce appointed J. Larl Wyatt, John Frederick and Am. F. Grosser, Jr.,
to act as appraisers in ascertaining the valuation of certain lots and pieces of
ground liable to special assessment for the cost of constructing Lateral unitary
Sewers 210, 2112 212 and 213, and brain Sanitary Sewers "T" and "U" in the City of
Salina, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Price appointments were confirmed by the
Board of Commissioners.

The appraisers reports for the curbing, guttering and/or paving the follows
ing streets were presented, and on motion of Commissioner Lindgren, 1onday, June
16th, 1917 at 7:30 P. M. was designated as a Special keeting to act on said
reports, and the City clerk was instructed to give notice of such meeting in
the official City paper as provided by law.

Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-380.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading regulating size of boats in park.
