Meeting was called to order by Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price, Breon, Moore and Noyce and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Stedham absent. as read. follows: The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 17, 1947 were read and approved Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1947 presented as Laurence N. White John A. Neilson Vernon D. Hays A. E. Cooper Commissioner Breon moved that applications be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. follows: Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1947 presented as Carl E. Roberts Commissioner Noyce moved that application be held over for one week. Motion adopted. Commissioner Moore moved that recommendation of Planning Board for the re- zoning of Lot 1, in Plat "C" be accepted, and the City Clerk was unanimously directed to give thirty day notice of intent to remove from Class "B" Residential to Class "C" Commercial, Lot 1, Plat "C" in the City of Salina, Kansas. Motion adopted. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing and guttering of Fourth Street from the center line of Forest Street to the south line of Pacific Avenue.' On motion of Commissioner Breon the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Breon, Moore and Noyce (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stedham absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 973• The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 361 Resolution Book Number 3• A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing and guttering and grading Eleventh Street from the center line of Harsh Avenue to the center line of Hamilton Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Breon the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Breon, Moore and Noyce (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Z)tedham absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 974. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 362 Resolution Book Number 3. Electrical Bond was presented from Arthur Tucker, d/b/a Tucker Electric Company. On motion of Commissioner Moore bond was approved by the Board of Commis- sioners. Motion adopted. Electrical Bond was presented from Chas. F. Baer, d/b/a Chas. F. Baer Electric Company. On motion of Commissioner Noyce bond was approved by the Board of commis- sioners. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Breon, Moore, and Noyce (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stedham absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-370. Application Number 975 asking for building permit for Salvation Army Chapel to be located on Lots 18 and 20, Block lit, E. M. I. Addition was presented, and on motion of Commissioner Moore permit was granted. Motion adopted. %4 Due to unforeseen and unexpected developments and the recommendation of the Chamber of Commerce Aviation Committee, it is now the unanimous opinion of the Mayor and members of Board of Commissioners that the bonds for the improvement of Municipal Airport be notauthorized, and that it is recommended that the voters of the City vote against the authorization of such bonds. Motion adopted. By unanimous motion the Board of Commissioners strongly urge all citizens to support the bond issue for the development of the park for the use of our colored people. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing and guttering of the west side of Front Street from the center line of Pacific Avenue to the center line of Forest venue." resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Seventh Street from the south line of Pacific Avenue to the south line of Woodland Avenue." Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
