Meeting was called to order by Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price, Breon, Noyce and Stedham and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Moore absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 10, 1947 were read and approved as read. City Planning C omission reported unfavorably on petition asking for the rezoning of Lots 18 and 20, Block 24, E. M. I. Addition, from Class "A" Residential to Class "B" Residentia 1 District. Commissioner Noyce moved that report be accepted and the people be given reasonable amount of time to vacate small building. Motion adopted. An ordinance w as introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance a,;thorizing a revision and codification of the ordinances of the City of Salina, and their publication in book form." On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Breon, Noyce and Stedham (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Moore absent. Mayor a pproved the ordinance and it is numbered 5209. i Commissioner Breon moved that Mayor and City Manager execute contract with C. L. Clark and A. B. Martin for the revision and codification of City ordi- nanses. Motionadopted. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating tothe curbing and guttering and concrete paving of Ellsworth Avenue from the west line of Osborne Otreet to 260 feet east of the east line of Osborne Street and concrete paving and grading of Ellsworth Avenue from the west line of Fourth Street tothe west line of Osborne reet. On motion of Commissioner Breon the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Breon, Noyce and Stedham (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Moore absent. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing and guttering of Woodland Avenue from the east line of Santa Fe Avenue to the center line of Front Street."� On motion of Commissioner Breon the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Breon, Noyce and Stedham (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Moore absent. City Planning Commission reported unfavorably on petition asking for the vacating part of Hamilton Avenue between Tenth and Eleventh streets. Commissioner Stedham moved that report be adopted by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. City Planning Commission reported favorably on petition asking for the rezoning of Lot 1, Plat "C" from "B" Residential to "C" Commercial, providing that any structures erected on said lot shall be set back in line with dwelling immediate- ly south of this lot, and that the building plans are first approved by the City. Referred back to City Planning C ommission for correct description. 69 A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing and guttering and grading of Fourth Street from the center line of Forest Street to the south line of Pacific Avenue." resolution was re- ferred to the Board of Commissioners. City Planning Commission recommended the North 20 feet of Lot 2, Block 43, Southern Heights Addition be rezoned from Class "A" Residential to Class "C" 6om- s merci al. Commissioner Breon moved to accept letter and City Manager get agree- ment. On motion of Commissioner Breon and duly seconded, the City Clerk was unanimously directed to give thirty day notice of intent to remove from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial certain property to -wit: The North 20 feet of Lot 2, Block 4s Southern Heights Addition, City of Salina, Kansas. Motion adopted. A petition was presented asking for the curbing, guttering and paving of Seventh Street from Pa cific Street to Woodland Avenue. Referred to the City Manager and City Engineer. A petition was presented protesting the traffic rule against making turns at the intersection of Santa Fe Avenue and Iron Avenue, and requesting that right turns be permitted at all times. Petition ordered filed. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing and guttering and grading of Eleventh Street from the center i line of Harsh Avenue to t he center line of Hamilton Avenue." Resolution referred to the Board of Commissioners.
