Meeting was called to order by Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price, Breon, f Noyce and Stedham and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Moore absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 3, 1947 were read and approved as read. follows: Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1947 presented as Louise E. Cain Commissioner Breon moved that application be approved and license granted for day driving only. Motion adopted. Willie L. Smith Fred W. Moran Ed �'rench Edgar Thomas Bugher Loren V. Burns Commissioner Breon moved that applications be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. Drew Hartnett appeared before the Board of Commissioners, in behalf of Veterans Taxi, requesting additional cabs, stating they needed five more cabs, but would like to have three. Taken under advisement by the Board of Commission- ers. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to and direct- ing the institution of an action to terminate the illegal use of Lots Seven (7), Eight (8) and Nine (9), Block One (1) in Evergreen Park Replat Addition to the City of Qalina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Breon the resolution was read and adopted as read by the following vote: Ayes: Price, Breon, Noyce and Stedham (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Moore absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 963• The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 351, Resolution Book Number 3. Trust Deed, with a deposit of $75.00 was presented from Mrs. Frances Crisman for the perpetual care of the South 1/2 of Lot 16, Block 1, in the Gypsum Hill Ceme- tery. Commissioner Noyce moved that Trust Deed be approved by the Board of Comm&s- sioners, and that the City Treasurer be instructed to place the deposit in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery Lot Owners Endowment Fund as provided for in Ordinance Number 3530 of the City of Salina, Kansas. Motion adopted. City Engineer submitted his approval for the construction of Storm Server 244 known as the Woodland Avenue Storm Server as follows: Salina, Kansas. March 4, 1947 To the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners. Salina, Kansas. Gentlemen: The excavating, laying of pipe, backfilling and grading of Storm Sewer No. 2 4, known as the Woodland avenue Storm Sewer constructed by the H. J. Taylor Construction Company of Salina, Kansas, under contract dated June 24, 1916, has been completed and final inspection made by this office. I { I have found that the work has been performed and completed in compliance with plans and specifications of said contract and therefore recommend that the work be accepted. Respectfully yours, H. City Engineer submitted Final Estimate of cost for the construction of Storm Sewer No. 24 known as the woodland Avenue Storm Sewer, Comm. Noyce moved that same be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. City Engineer submitted Final Estimate in the amount of $15,226.22 to H. J. Taylor Construction Compa ny, for the construction of Storm Sewer No. 24, known as woodland Avenue storm sewer. On motion of Commissioner Noyce same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. City Engineer submitted Partial Estimate in the amount of $21,220.25 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of Antrim Avenue storm Sewer. On motion of Commissioner Breon same was approved by the Board of Commis- sioners. Motion adopted. City Engineer submitted Partial Estimate in the amount of $13,947.35 to Brown and Brown, Inc. for the construction of alley paving. On motion of Com- missioner Stedham same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Baseball Contract for the year 1947 was presented, and on motion of Commissioner Noyce appro ed by the Board of Uommissioners. Motion adopted. A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of Fourth Street from Forrest to Pacific. Referred to the City Manager and City Engineer. A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of Eleventh Street between Hamilton and Harsh. Referred to the City Manager and City Engineer. A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sanitary sewer for Blocks 4 and 5, and that portion of Block 2, south of Broadway Boulevard, all in North Park Addition, City of Salina, Kansas. Referred to the City Manager and City Engineer. A petition was presented asking for the vacation of Hamilton Avenue from Tenth Street to Eleventh Street ten (10) feet on each side. Referred to the City Planning Commission. City Planning Commission reported favorably on petition asking for the rezoning of Lots 2 and 4, in Block 5, woodland Addition to permit the establishment of a trailer camp, providing said camp meets all the requirements of the City ordinance pertaining to trailer camps. Commissioner Breon moved that report be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. City Planning Commission reported favorably on petition asking for the I • rezoning of the north 20 feet of Lot 21 Block 4, Southern Heights Addition to the City of Salina, to permit the expansion of the present grocery store located on Lot 11 Block 4, Southern Heights A ddition, providing that adequate off-street parking is provided by the ow ners for their customers. Tabled until next meeting. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Tenth Street from the south line of Hamilton Street to t he north line of Antrim Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Otedham the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Breon, Noyce and Stedham (5) Nays: (0) Commissioner Moore absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 964. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 352 Resolution Book Number 3. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing and guttering and concrete paving of Ellsworth Avenue from the west line of Osborne street to 260 feet e4st of the east line of Osborne Street, and concrete paving and grading of Ellsworth Avenue from the west line of Fourth Street to the west line of Osborne Street. Referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating tothe curbing and guttering and grading of the south side of Kirwin Avenue from the west side of Fourth Street to the west line of Osborne Street, and the curbing and guttering and grading of Kirwin Avenue from the west line of Osborne Street to a point 125 feet east of the east line of Osborne Street." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
