COMMISSIONERS t'ROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING

JANUARY 27, 1947
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 27, 1947. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price,
Breon, Noyce and Stedham and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Moore
ansemt.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 20, 1947 were ead and
approved as read.
N1r. A. W. Stedham, newly appointed Commissioner, appointed by the Board
of Commissioners January 13, 1)47, to fill the unexpired term of H. C. Simpson, Jr.
deceased, was present. The oath of office has been administered to him by Chas.
E. Banker, City Clerk. Mr. wtedham having filed his official bond, approved by the
Judge of the District Court of Salina, Kansas, he assumed his office as City
Commissioner.
Commissioner Noyce moved that five taxicab licenses be granted to the
Veterans of World kar Number 2. Motion adopted. A final statement was read and
ordered filed.
Application was presented from R. J. Lindenmuth asking perission to
operate Taxicab and Baggage Company. Commissioner Stedham moved that application
for taxicab license be rejected. Motion adopted.
Attorney Hartnett thanked the Board of Commissioners for their considera-
tion in the matter of granting five taxicab licenses'to Veterans of World War
Number 2. Moved that same be spread upon the records.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1947 presented as
follows:

Commissioner Breon moved that application be approved and license granted
for day driving only. Motion adopted.
Robert Jennings
Commissioner Breon moved that application be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
Lenville L. McKnight
Commissioner Stedham moved that application be rejected by the Board of
Commissioners. Motion a dopted.
Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License for the year 1947 presented

Commissioner Noyce moved that application be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
A petition was presented asking for the location of a street light at
the corner of Woodland Avenue and Seventh Street. Referred to the City Manager.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of Tenth
Street from Eamilton to Antrim. Referred to the City Manager.
Mayor Price appointed Firs. J. R. Oeis and Frank Hageman as members of the
Library Board for a term of .four years frolp February 1, 1946. Appointments con-
firmed by the Board of Commissioners.
Mayor Price appointed Earl C. Woodward and C. F. Prescott as members of
the Library Board for a term of %ur years from February 1, 1947. Appointments
confirmed by the Board of Commissiow rs.

Commissioner Noyce moved that applications be approved and license
granted. Motion adopted.
Applications for sixteen (16) Radio Cab taxicab licenses were.presented,
fifteen (15) for full year and one (1) for six months.

Motion adopted.
Commissioner Breon moved that the City Manager meet the Payroll of
Januar; 31, 1947. Motion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
