Commissioner Noyce moved that _bus stops be established on the corner of
Fifth Street and Iron I -venue, and on Seventh Street and Iron Avenue. Motion adopted.
A petition was presented from Verney G. tray, et al., Veterans of World War
Number 2, asking for the approval of the organization of a Taxicab Company in Salina,
Kansas, to be known as the "Veterans Taxi." Petition was referred to the City Manager
and Qity Attorney.

Petitions were presented relating to appointment of Judge of the City
Court of Jalina, Kansas. Ord�.red filed.
A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission, relating
to petition establishing the width of the alley running from Crawford Avenue to
Bond Street between Santa Fe Avenue and Highland Avenue. Commission stated, it is
their opinion they do not have any power to act in this matter. The matter was
referred to the City Manager.
A Communication was presented from the City Planning Commission relating to
approval of plat of Olelling Addition. The matter was referred to the City Attorney.
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners Januar 13, 1947. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price, Breon,
Moore and Noyce and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Simpson dece4sed.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 6, 1917 were read and approved
as read.
Commissioner Breon nominated A. W. `'tedham as City Commissioner to fill
vacancy created on account of the death of H. C. Simpson, Jr., and on roll call the
following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Breon, Moore and Royce (4) Nays: (0)
Said A. W. Stedham was thereupon declared to be duly elected as City Obmmissioner
of the City of Salina for the unexpired term of H. C. Simpson, Jr., deceased, extend-
ing for a period of four years from the last General Election held in April 1945,
and until his successor is duly elected and qualified.
A petition was presented asking the City Commissioners to establish City
bus stops on the corner of Fifth Street and Iron "venue and Seventh otreet and Iron
Avenue.

Mr. A. R. Buzick submitted his resignation as Judge of the City Court,
Salina, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Dreon resignation was accepted by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
Commissioner Moore nominated Omer D. Smith for Judge of City Court,
Salina, Kansas, to fill vacancy created by the resignation of A. R. Buzick.
Appointment confirmed by the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
relating to the drilling for oil and gas within the limits of the City of Salina,
Kansas, and amending Ordinance No. 5128 and repealing Section 3 of said Ordinance
5128." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of CommLssioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
