12-02-1946 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. DECEMBER 22 1946 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 2, 1946. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price, Breon, Noyce and Simpson and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Moore absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 25, 1946 were read and approved as read. follows: Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1946 presented as Oscar Dale Ashton Frank Tolson Commissioner Simpson moved t at applications be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the vacation of certain portions of Lincoln Street in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Breon, Noyce and Simpson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Moore absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5197• Surety Bond in the amount of $6,000.001 as provided for in Ordinance Number 5186 was presented from the Kansas ,''esleyan University. On motion of Commissioner Noyce the City Clerk was authorized to sign approval of said bond. Motion adopted. City Manager recommended new schedule for rates of charges in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, same to b e effective January 1, 1947• On motion same was adopted by the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for compensation to be paid the Cit of Salina by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and amending Ordinance No. 4997, by repealing Sections 8 and 10 of Ordinance No. 4997, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section 8 and section 10." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Simpson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called- nd the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, breon, Noyce and Simpson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Moore absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-356. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of paving the alley lying between Seventh Street and Eighth Street from Walnut Street, north 589 feet; and alley lying between Seventh Street and Eighth Street from Iron Avenue to Ash Street,and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assess- ments." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled; "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Hancock Street from the north line of Venango to the north line of hepublic Avenue." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
