NOMMER 25, 1946
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 25, 1946. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor ?rice, the roll was called and Commissioners Price,
Breon, Moore, Noyce and Simpson and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 18, 1946 were read and approved
as read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1946 received as follows:
Harvey L. Miller
Andrew Younger
Commissioner Simpson moved that applications be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
Oscar Dale Roberts
Commissioner Simpson moved that application be held over for one week. Motion
adopted.
City Planning Commission reported favorably on petition received from Wyatt
Manufacturing Company asking for the vacation of twenty feet on the south side of
Lincoln Street, which dead ends at Fifth Street. Report approved by the Board
of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance pro-
viding for the vacation of certain portions of Lincoln Street in the City of Salina."
Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
City Planning Commission reported unfavorably on petition received from
Nellie White, et al, asking for the vacation of a public street, commencing at the
Northwest corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, Section 18,
Township 14, South, Range 2 West of the Sixth Principal Meridian, Saline County,
Kansas, thence east 80 rods; thence south 2 rods; thence west 80 rods; thence North
2 rods to the place of beginning. The matter was referred to the City Attorney
I and City Manager to make a report to the Board of Commissioners.
City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to be received up to and
including Monday, December 9, 1946 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. for the sale of the follow-
ing Cit; of Salina Improvement Bonds:
Curb and Gutter Issue $5475.41, Series P-134, dated September 1, 1946,
bearing 14 per cent interest;
Sewer Issue $11,343.44, Series S-135, dated September 1, 1946,
bearing 11 per cent interest;
Curb, Gutter and/or Paving Issue $28,934.70, dated September 1,1946,
bearing 11 per cent interest;
Sewer Issue $14,220.23, Series S-137, dated September 12 1946,
bearing 14% interest.
City Manager reported favorably on petition asking for the curbing and
guttering Hancock Street, from Venango to nepublic Avenusq.
Application Number 861 asking for Building Permit for the erection of a
building on Lot 1, Block 5, Woodland Addition was presented from Wm. H. Long. Referred
to the City Planning Commission.
On motion, City Manager was authorized to meet the Payroll of December 1,
1946.
On motion of Commissioner Simpson the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
