11-04-1946 Minutes29 COMMISSION.::RS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. NOVEMBER 4, 1946 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 4, 1946. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price, Breon, Moore, Noyce and Simpson and City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 21, 1946 and Regular Meeting of October 28, 1946 were read and approved as read. i Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1946 received as follows: Perry S. Dalrymple Commissioner Noyce moved that application be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. Vern K. Partch Commissioner Noyce moved that application be held over for one week. Motion adopted. Commissioner Breon moved that A. H. -0rockman be granted permission to trans- fer Beer License No. $532, (Case Retailer) from 117 South Fifth Street to 111 South Fifth Street. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. 'Taylor Gonstruction Company for the construction of a certain storm sewer in the City of 'alina, heretofore designated as Storm Sewer No. 25, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Noyce the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Breon, Moore, Noyce and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5195• City Planning Commission reported favorably on petition presented from the Salina Brick and Tile Company, asking for the rezoning of their property on East Gypsum Avenue from Class "A" Residential to "E" Heavy Industrial. Commissioner Simpson moved that report be adopted by the Board of Commis- sioners, and that the City Clerk give notice in the official City paper that a public hearing will be granted to any persons interested in said proposed changes or amendments, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Monday, Decembeir 16th, 1946s in the Commission- ers Meeting Room in the City Hall, Salina, Kansas. Motion adopted. Mausoleum Deed for the sale of Crypt Number 251 in the Hillcrest Memorial Mausoleum, to Dr. L. R. Bessey was presented. Commissioner Breon moved that Brlayor be authorized to sign Deed on behalf of the City of Salina, Kansas. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the organization of a Firemen-ts Relief Association; providing for the use and disbursement of the funds created by 40-1701 General Statutes of Kansas, 1935, and by 40-1702 to 1707, Inc., 1945 Supplement, General Statutes of Kansas 1935, and I all amendments thereto, and repealing ordinances 4816 and 4599." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. City Engineer submitted partial estimate in the amount of $5697.12 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company fro the construction of Woodland Avenue storm sewer. On motion of Commissioner Simpson same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. i I An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance amking appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Noyce the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption tl.e roll was called and the following vote was had; f 9 Ayes: Price, Breon, Moore, Noyce and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-353• On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned to meet in regular session, Tuesday, November 12th, 1946 at 7:30 o'clock P.
