1Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 28, 1946. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price,
Breon, Moore, Noyce and Simpson and City Attorney Clark responded.

The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 14th , 1946 and Regular
Meeting of October 21, 1946 were read and approved as read.

Commissioner Breon moved that applications be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing, guttering and paving of
Morrison Avenue from Twelfth Street to Phillips Street. Petition was referred to
the City Manager.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
iproviding for the inclusion of certain land in the City of Salina in "E" Heavy
Industrial District, as defined by Section 7 of Urdinance No. 3188, as that district,
and providing for the proper uses thereof."
Un motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final a doption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Breon, Price, Moore, Noyce and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered 5194.

An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Contruction Company for
the construction of a certain storm sewer in the City of Salina, heretofore designated
as Storm Sewer No. 25, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the
cost hereof pending issuance and sale of bonds." Ordinance was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
The appraisers reports for the paving of the alley lying between Seventh
Street and Eighth Street,from Walnut Street north 589 feet; and alley lying between
Seventh Street and Eighth Street from Ash Street to Iron Avenue, were received, and
on motion of Commissioner Noyce, Tuesday, Novembet 12th, 1946 at 7:30 o'clock P.M.
was designated as a special meeting, at which time the reports will be taken up and
acted on by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City Ulerk give notice of such
meeting in the official city paper as provided by law. Motion adopted.
City Planning Commission reported favorably on application received from
j Perry Fuller, asking for building permit to erect a warehouse on the West 25U feet
Lot 12 Golden Belt SudDivision, Salina, Kansas, (501 E4st Pacific). On motion of
Commissioner Simpson report was adopted by the Board of Commissioners, and the
ibuilding Inspector was instructed to issue Building Permit. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Noyce the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Price, Breon, Moore, Noyce and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered A-351.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Simpson t e ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Price, Breon, Moore, Noyce and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered A-352.
Commissioner Breon moved that the City Manager be authorized to cooperate
with the Board of County Commissioners for the purchase of a three-way radio for the
Salina Police Department. Motion adopted.
City Manager was authorized to pay for the building purchased from the
War Assets Administration. Building located at Camp Phillips, Kansas and is num-
bered 1849. Cost of building $1645.00
