Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 8, 1946. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price,
Breon, Moore, Noyce and Simpson and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 30, 1946 were read and
approved as read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1946 received as
follows:
Leland T. O'Leary,
Clifford R. Palmer
Bob Schmidt
Aaron R. Koelling,
John W. Hart,
On motion of Commissioner Breon applications were approved and license
granted. Motion adopted.
Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License for the year 1946 received
as follows:

Commissioner Moore moved that application be tabled for one week. Motion
adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
limiting the time of parking of vehicles on the nort� side of Iron Avenue between
Eighth street and Ninth Street and providing penalties for the violation thereof."
Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance w4s introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
ratifying and confirming a contract with Brown and Brown Construction Company,
Inc., for the construction and installation of certain paving and grading improve-
ments on certain public alleys in the City of Salina, and providing for the
issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and
sale of bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and
pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of curbing
and guttering Arthur Avenue from the north line of North Street to the south line
of Lincoln Street; Charles Street i'rom the west line of Twelfth Street to the east
line of Phillips Street; Charles Street from the west line of Phillips Street to
the east line of Montrose Avenue; Eighth Street from the north line of
Hamilton Street to the south line of Antrim Street; Garfield Avenue from the
north line of North, Street to the south line of Lincoln Avenue; Grant Avenue
from the north line of North Street to he south line of Lincoln Avenue;
Lincoln Avenue from the east line of Grant Avenue to the west line of Arthur
Avenue; North Street from the east line of Front Street to the west line of
Arthur venue; Seventh Street from the north line of Lincoln Avenue to the south
line of Decatur Otreet; Seventh 6treet from the south line of Hamilton Avenue
to the north line of Otis "venue; and relating to and providing for the collection I
and payment of such assessments." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Com-
missioners.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to the
acquiring from the 'War Assets Administration for the amount of $1645.00 a
building to be used for the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commiissioner Simpson t e resolution was adopted as read and
on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Price, Breon, Moore, Noyce and Simpson (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the reso-
lution and it is numbered 954.

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance providing for the con-
demnation of certain land for public use in the extension of storm sewer system of the
City of Salina, Kansas."

On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinanfe was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Price, Breon, Idoore, Noyce and Simpson : s
ordinance and it is numbered 5190. (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
Report of City Planning Commission relating to erection of building on Lot 20,
Block 22, Episcopal Miilitaty Institute Addition, by Milo Applebee, was presented and
referred to�he City Manager.
On motion of Commissioner Breon � the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
