12-05-1932 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. - I - COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. DECEMBER 5th, 1932. Regular Meeting of the Board of Comrrassioners, December 5th, 1932. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 28th, 1932 and December 2nd, 1932 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims.'! On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted b,- sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4218. City Engineers Final Estimate to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of Storm Sewers No. 24 and No. 17-A, under contract dated October 31st, 19323 was -presented by the City Engineer, and on motion of Commissioner Spaeth same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. City Engineers Final Estimate to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer No. 167 was presented by the City Engineer, and on motion of Commissioners Benfield same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its -final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Morey Pafford and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4219. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the issuance of Refunding Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the aggregate amount of $60,090.57 for the purpose of refunding.certain outstanding bonds of such City in a like amount." On motion of -Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; A es: Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0}y Mayor approved the same and is numbeted 4220. Trust Deed with a deposit of $100.00 received from the N. C. Ethridge estate, for perpetual care of south one-half of Lot No. 38 in Block "A" in the gypsum Hill Cemetery of Salina, Kan- sas. On motion of Commissioner Morey same was accepted by the Board of Commissioners and the City Treasurer was instructed to place the deposit in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery Endowment Fund as provided by Ordinance No. 3530 of the City of Salina. Application No. 80, asking for permission to erect a temporary cloth sign.at 108 North Santa Fe Avenue received from the Gibbs Clothing Company, and on motion of Commissioner Morey same was ap- proved by the Board of Commissioners. Application No. 81 asking for permission to erect a temporary cloth sign at 137North Santa Fe tivenue received from the Style Shop, and on motion of Commissioner Benfield same was approved by the Board of Commi.ss ioners . i Application No. 82, asking for permission to erect a sign at 135 North Santa Fe Avenue received from the New & Used Store, and on motion of Commissioner Spaeth same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. 1 1 D 1 1 1 1 1 Commissioner Pafford moved that the recommendations of the City Planning Commission, pertaining to the re -zoning of the south- west corner of Ninth Street and Walnut Street (Miller corner b adopted* j, e On motion of adjourned.
