11-28-1932 Minutes1 1 1 1 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. NOVEMBER 280 1932. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, November 28, 1932. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and €'oxmnissioners Stevenson, Benfield, Pafford and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Morey absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 21, 1932s, were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the construction of Storm sewers No. 24 and 17-A in the City of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;. Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Pafford and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4215. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifyina and confirming a contract for the building and con- struction of a certain lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sanitary Sewer District No. 1.67, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopt- ed by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes Stevenson, Benfield, Pafford and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4216. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance excluding certain lands from the corporate limits of the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Benfield the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Pafford and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4217. The appraisers report for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer No. 167 was received, and on motion of Commissioner Pafford, Monday, December 12th, 1932 at 5:00 P. M. was designated as a special meeting, at which time the report will be taken up and acted on by the Board of Coimnissioners, and.that the City Clerk give notice in the official city paper as provided by law. i A communication was received from the Red Top Cabs asking permis- sion to establish as a taxicab office and stand the property known as the Sinclair Oil Station located at 300 West Ash Street. Commissioner Spaeth moved that permission be granted for two taxi- cabs at the above location. Gas Fitter'Bond received from J. A. Stauffer Hardware, and on motion of Commissioner Spaeth same was approved by the Board of Commis- sioners. A communication was received from The Mercer Casualty Company, stating that Taxicab Policy #121729 issued to The Red Top Taxicab Com- pany and/or Tom J. Herring, on April 13th, 1932, will be cancelled ten days from November 22nd, 1932. On motion of Commissioner Pafford City Clerk was instructed to notify Mr. Herring of such cancellation. Sign Application No. 79 asking permission to erect a sign on front of J. C. Penney building on South Santa Fe Avenue, was received, and on motion of Commissioner Benfield same was approved by the Board of Com- missioners.
