11-14-1932 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA$ KANSAS. NOVEMBER 14, 1932. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners,.ovember 14, 1932. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November ?, 1932$ were read and approved as read. Application Number 77, asking for the erection of a sign on the Hotel Warren, was presented by the Clauda Neon Federal Company, and on motion of Commissioner Morey same was approved by the Board of Commis- sioners* City Planning Commission submitted the following recommendations: On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the appointments were confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Two agreements were presented entered into between the City of Salina and the United States Airways, Inc. On motion of Commission- er Morey same were accepted by the Board of Commissioners and the Mayor was authorized to sign the same on behalf of the City of Salina. On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the Board of Commissioners adjourned* City Clerk. Salina, Kansas. November 10, 1932. The City Planning Commission met in regular session in the Chamber of Commerce rooms at 5:00 P. M. All members were present. In connection with the petition to re -zone the "Miller" corner i at Ninth and Walnut, the Planning Commission recommends to the City Commissioners that this lot NOT be re -zoned to commercial zoning. In response to a petition from Mr, Hessler, requesting the ' re -zoning of Lot 98, Ninth and Cloud streets from "A" zoning to "C" Commercial, the Planning Commission recommends to the City Commission- ers that this lot be re -zoned to commercial zoning. The planning Commission has before it a petition requesting the re -zoning to Commercial of Lots 96,94,92,90,88 and the south 25 feet of the east 150 feet of the vacated portion of Woodlawn Avenue, in the block between Woodlawn and Cloud Streets on Ninth Street. It is the intension to take this matter up at its next regular meeting, announce a public hearing on this, and make a recommendation concern- ing the re -zoning of this tract to the City Commissioners. In response to the request of Mr. Lohmiller for the zoning to Commercial Lot 24, the corner of Cedar and College, the Plan Commis- i sion feels that since this business at this location was established long before there was a zoning ordinance in Salina, that this business can be better regulated if re -zoned, the Commission desires to recom- mend to the City Commissioners the re -zoning from "A" zoning to "C" Commercial zoning all of Lot 240 corner of Cedar and College Streets. Carl to act as appraisers in ascertaining the valuation of certain lots and pieces of ground liable to special assessment for the cost of constructing Lateral Sewer No. 167. On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the appointments were confirmed by the Board of Commissioners.
