10-31-1932 Minutes1 1 COMAISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. OCTOBER 31, 1932. Regular Meeting of the Board of Cormmissioners, October 31, 1932. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners .Stevenson,_Pafford and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded.._ Commissioners -Benfield and Morey absent. The minutes of the Regul.ar.Me.eting of October 24th, 1932; October 27th, 1932; and 4ctober.29th, 1932,, were read and approved as read. Bids for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer No. 167 as advertised _for, received from: H.J.Taylor Construction Company, Salina Kansas. Peterson Construction..Company-, Salina,.ka�sas. City Engineers estimate of cost for the above named improvement was read. Commissioner Spaeth moved that the contract be awarded to H. J. Taylor Construction as per bid submitted, and that certified check be returned by the City Clerk to the unsuccessful bidder; also that Mayor be authorized.to sign_contract on behalf of the City for such improvement._. Motion.carried. Application No. 72 asking permission to erect a sign on top of one story building, used for battery station, located north of Barnsdall Refining Company's filling station fronting on Iron Avenue near.east end of Iron ''venue Bridge, was received from Salina Battery Mfg. Company. On motion of Commissioner Pafford same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Application No, 73 asking for permission to erect temporary cloth signs on front of building located at 125 South Santa Fe Avenue, occupied.by the Shook Jewelry Store, was received. On motion..of Commissioner Spaeth same was approved.by the Board of Commissioners . A lease was presentedfrom C. R. Cravens and Fred L. Hartley relating to the leasing of certain land for the National Guard barns. Commissioner.Spaeth moved that the.Mayor, be authorized to sign said lease on_behalf.of.the City, of Salina.
