COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGSs. REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
OCTOBER 240 1932.
Regular meeting of the Board.of Commissioners, October 24,
1932. Meeting was called to.order.by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was
called and Commissioners Stevenson, Benfield., Morey, Pafford and
Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular. -Meeting of October 17th, 1932,
were read and approved as read.
'Bids for the construction of Storm Sewers No. 17-A and No. 24,
as advertised for, received from:
Peterson Construction Company, Salina, Kansas.
H.J.Taylor Construction Company, Salina, Kansas.
City Engineers. estimate of cost for the above work wasread.
Commissioner Pafford moved that contract be awarded to
H. J. Taylor Construction. ...Company..as.per. bid .submitted, and that
certified check be returned by.the_City Clerk to.the unsuccessful
bidder, and that the_Mayor.be authorized.to sign contract on behalf
of the City for the above named improvement._._ Motion carried.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance creating and defining,a certain lateral sanitary
sewer district in the City of Salina designated as Lateral Sewer
District No. 1670 providing for the construction of a lateral
sanitary sewer in such district and for the cost thereof and for the
levying of special assessments against the property in such district
for the payment of such cost, and for.the issuing of bonds therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had;. Ayes.: Stevenson, Benfield, Morey,
Pafford and Spaeth (5) Nays: .(0) Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 4212.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution accepting
trust proposal.of the Governor of Kansas for the establishment and
operation of an emergency relief fund from federal emergency relief
funds, for the payment of work relief wages on Work Relief Project
No. 14-9 entitled, Resurfacing park drives.".
On motion of Commissioner Benfield the resolution was adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the fol-
lowing vote was had;.. Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Pafford, Morey
and Spaeth (5). Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered
546.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 206 of Resolu-
tion Book Number 2.
Application No. 74, asking permission to erect a sign on
front of building occupied.by Parisian Ready -To -bear at 105 North
Santa Fe tivenue, was received, and on motion of Commissioner Pafford
same was approved by the Board of commissioners.
On motion of C ommissioner .Benfield the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
