Regular meeting.of the. Board of Commissioners October 17,
1932. Meeting was .called_. to orderby_ -Mayor_ Stevenson, _the_.roll was
called and Commissioners Stevenson, . B.enfield,_ Morey,.. Pafford .and
Spaeth and City Attorney Norris -responded. .
The minutes of the .Regular _Me-eting.of October.10th,_1.932;
October 12th, 1932 and October.l3th,_.1932,.were read. and. approved- as
read.
Commissioner Korey moved that lateral sanitary sewer be
constructed in the alley between Ellsworth Avenue and Jewell Avenue
from Fourth Street to Osborne. Street, as per petition presented to
the Board of Commissioners September -.26., 1932.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the. patment . of .certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Morey the -ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had;. Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Morey,
Patf ord and. Spae th ..(.5 ) Nays: (0) Mayor , approved the same and
is numbered 4211.
City Engineer submitted plans and specifications and estimate
of cost for the construction of Storm -Sewers _ No.._24 and -No.
17-A.
On motion of Commissioner Morey same were..approved.by the
Board of Commissioners, and the City Clerk was instructed .to
advertise for bids for such improvements, t.o.be received _up.to
and including Monday, October 24th, 1932 .at_3-:00_P.-.M.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance creating and defining a certain lateral -sanitary
sewer district in the City of Salina designated as Lateral Sewer
District No. 167, providing for the construction of a lateral
sanitary sewer in such district and for the cost thereof and for
the levying of special assessments against.the property in such
district for the payment of such cost, and for the issuing of
bonds therefor."
On motion of Cr, issioner Benfield same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
Trust Deed, with a deposit of $75.00, received from the
National Bank of America for perpetual care. of Carl Wheeler
lot (NJ Lot 3, Block 1,) in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery of Salina,
Kansas.
Commissioner Morey moved that same be accepted by the Board
of 0onmi.ssioneras and that the City Treasurer be instructed to
place the deposit in the Gypsum Bill Cemetery Endowment Fund as
provided by Ordinance No. 3530 of the City of Salina... Motion
carried.
Application No. 70, asking for permit for a sign at 147 South
Santa Fe "venue, received from F. W. Viahneske.. Onmotion of
Commissioner Pafford same was approved by.the Board -of Commission-
ers.
Application No. 71, asking.for permit.for sign at 146 South
Santa Fe Avenue received from the New -Way Shoe Store. On motion
of Commissioner Pafford same was approved by the Board of Commis-
sioners.
On motion of Commissioner Morey.the Board of Commissioners
