COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
AUGUST 8th, 1932.
Regular meeting of the Board of CoMInissioners, August 8th,
1932. Meeting was called to order b Mayor Stevenson, the roll was
called and Commissioners Stevenson, benfield, Morey, Pafford and
Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August let, 1932, were
read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance levying special assessments against certain property to
pay the cost of constructing certain water and sewer service pipes
in certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas,
On motion of Commissioner Benfield same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for and requiring the construction of a sidewalk
on Frost Street between Ninth and Tenth Streets in the Cit of
Salina." y
On motion of Commissioner Spaeth same was referred to the
Board, of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to the construction of a viaduct over the rail-
road tracks which cross Santa Fe Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas."
Commissioner Morey moved that resolution be adopted as read
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the -following vote
was had* Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth (5)
Nays: fO) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 538,
The above resolution is recorded in Bill on Pages numbered 196
and 197 of Resolution Book Number 2.
Commissioner Benfield moved that the Board of Commissioners
waive the area set back for building to be erected at 1418 Santa Fe
Avenue, authorizing the Building Inspector to issue a buildin$ permit
covering the plans for proposed commercial building, Motion carried.
Taxicab application and bond received from L. H. Pickett.
Commissioner Pafford moved that license be issued and that bond
be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion carried.
A petition was presented asking for the vacating of the alley
between Lots 1107 and 1111 in 1100 block on South Santa Fe Avenue.
Same was referred to the City Manager.
Mausoleum Deed (Hillcrest Memorial) to Guy R. Ryan for crypts
No. 360 and 3610 were received.
Moved by Commissioner Pafford and seconded by Co:mrissioner
Morey that Mayor be authorized to sign deed. Motion carried,
City Manager submitted Tentative Budget for 1933.
Commissioner Pafford moved that budget be published and that
public hearing on same be held Tuesday, August 16th, 1932 at 7:30
P. M. Motion carried.
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
