COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
AUGUST 10 1932.
Regular meeting of the Board of Coaanissioners, August 1,
1932. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson the roll was
called and Commissioners Stevenson, Benfield, Morey,•'afford and
Spaeth responded. City Attorney Norris absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 25, 1932, were read
and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims.`
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Paf-
ford and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0 Mayor approved the same and is num-
bered 4192.
City Engineer submitted Final.Estimate. to H. J. Taylor Con-
struction Company for the construction of paving improvements under
contract dated July 15th, 1932. On motion of Commissioner Benfield
same was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Benfield the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was hadt• Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford
and Spaeth (5) Nays: (01 Mayor approved the same and is numbered
4193.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation from the funds of the Water Department for the purchase
of a temporary note of the City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption -the roll was called -and
the following vote was had;. Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Korey, Pafford
and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered

City Engineer submitted. Final Estimate to H. J. Taylor Construe -
tion Company for the construction of.curb.ing, guttering and paving
Improvements under contract dated.May 31,.1932, and.on motion of Com-
missioner Morey same was approved .by the Board of Commissioners.

City Engineer submitted Final Estimate of cost for excavating,
curbing, guttering and paving North Street from the east line of alley
east of Fifth Street west to connect with existing paving at Santa Fe
Avenue. On motion of Commissioner Morey some was approved by the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Benfield the ordinance was read and 4
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called l

Taxicab application and bond received from I. 0. Sewell.
Commmissioner Pafford moved that license be granted, and bond
approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion carried. -

Commissioner Pafford moved that the Santa Fe Railway Company be
granted
permission to construct an unloading device on North Street
south of spur between Santa Fe Avenue and Fifth Street. Motion carried.

A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A reso-
lution relating to the construction of a viaduct over.the railroad
tracks which cross Santa Fe Avenue in.the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commlissioner Spaeth same was referred to the Board
of Comissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Morey the Board of Commissioners
